Watchlist can NOT be made private

I change the settings to private when in EDIT mode, then click close, then done but nothing changes. It seems like no changes are kept because I tried different sorting/layout and this was not affected, too.

This appears to be a bug. My Watch list is currently private. When I tried to make it public through the edit menu, it reverted back to private.

This does not appear to be a problem with my "Ratings" list. Likewise, I was able to make change one of my list to private and back to public.

Yeah, I also think it is a bug. I recently made it public for a friend to choose a movie to watch and then I wasn't able to revert it to public again. It sucks.

As mentioned, this seems to be an annoying intermittent issue. If this is still occurring now, please give us the link to the list so I can let our tech staff know and they can take a look behind the scenes and try to identify the cause.

As you mention, this is an intermittent issue, which makes this very difficult to track down.

I just tried to change my watch list from private to public. After I click the close button, I get the message:
This list is public and visitors can leave comments.
However, when I click the Done button or click Watch list, I get the message:
List is private

Possible explanation: If you only change the private/public setting, it is not saved. If you also make a change to your list of films before you click Done, the setting is saved.

What you suggested works. When I add a film to my watch list, my privacy setting is retained to what I just changed it to after click the "Done" button. At least we have a work-around and something the IMDb technical staff can check.

I just can't change my watchlist from Public to Private.
Tried several times on Chrome.
Wiped the cache, cookies etc with ccleaner, still nothing.
Tried using IE (dunno why x), still nothing.

My problem? Or Bug?
