We DON'T NEED TO SEE Lane Bryant ads every DAY every PAGE for two weeks!

ENOUGH Morons!  I can't even look at IMDB without co-workers seeing this stupid ad, assuming I viewing some smut! This may come as a shock, but SOME OF US don't wear bra (I'm guessing about half of us) , ANd it doesn't stop! Every page except the main page! Time to sell your soul to someone else, hopefully not as obnoxious!

As another user, I also find it annoying to repeatedly see the same ad, especially if it is one that does not apply to me or I find embarrassing. There appears to be a bug in the ad software that causes the same ad to be repeated ad nauseum (or it that ad nauseating?).

If you are using a shared computer at work, it's possible that one of your co-workers is a fan of Lane Bryant. If not, it's possible you may have unintentionally accessed a web site related to Lane Bryant.

Regardless, there are a few things you could do to reduce or eliminate this ceaseless flow of embarrassing and/or annoying ads.
  1. Install ad blocker software if your company permits you to do so.
  2. Log out of IMDb and log back in.
  3. Delete any cookies related to ads you do not wish to see and cookies that contain the phrase ad or ads as part of the cookie.
  4. You may wish to delete all of your cookies from your browser and browser history.
  5. When an ad appears on the right side of an IMDb page, you should see the phrase "ad feedback" below the ad. When you click "ad feedback" you should see a popup menu. If the ad is relevant and appropriate, select "very". If not, select "not". You can also comment about the ad in the text box.
  6. Go to Amazon.com and search for books, films and other items you may wish to buy or at least do not find objectionable.

This is my own computer at work. No I did not look at anything 'Lane Bryant.' AND I'm on a Macitosh, as a Macintosh Tech. I'm really not willing to blast all my caches and cookies and browser history. If there is a bug in IMDB's software, SOMEBODY at IMBD should be fixing it.  PS It also appears on my Mac at home, so it has to be the IMDB site that's remembering it.
By the way, this "focused ads" eveybody's been touting as the ultimate in fine-tuned advertising is a complete and utter failure. I usually see ads for stuff I already bought, or have no interest in. Someone should tell these 'marketing geniuses' their Holy Grail is dead.
