I am new to editing on IMDb and have been hired to update a films page by the producers. What drop down menu do I use to add the DIT (digital information tech) person. Does it go under editorial dept, other crew or what? Also we have a BTS photographer and BTS videographer? How should I list the BTS videographer? And since I'm here, is there a section for listing 2nd unit crew members? If not how do I list them as 2nd unit? Thanks in advance for your help. Kris

Kris: You may want to consult the Index to Field Browsers at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1P8BPXKiAcHXbY3vbCzsHgFPpj8EJf4_EdkbePpPYMjM/pub  which has links to the list of jobs currently listed in each department of IMDb.

I see that there are some digital information tech jobs listed in the Camera and Electrical Department, so that's where I would list that.

The Camera and Electrical Department has 100 "behind the scenes photographers" and 154 "behind the scenes videographers" listed, so that's where I would list those jobs.

Second unit jobs are generally listed in the department of the corresponding job, except when that department is reserved for the head person. The job is listed as "job: second unit". To put it more clearly, suppose you had a "second unit director of photography". While a director of photography would normally be listed as a Cinematographer, https://contribute.imdb.com/updates/guide/cinematographers says that only the head cinematographer goes in the Cinematographers department, while second unit d.p.'s go to the Camera and Electrical Department. So the second unit director of photography should be listed in the Camera and Electrical Department with the job "director of photography: second unit".

I hope this helps. Good luck!

Gromit knows more about IMDB, I know more about DITs... also worked as one (actual DIT, not data wrangler) on several jobs.
To get to the point, DITs who are union members belong to local 600 - the cinematographers' guild - so while the job connects camera and post-production, I'd put them under Camera and Electrical Department, as Gromit suggested.
