I am using a large IMDB data set for a project and I am wondering what the 'country' represents exactly? I know it's not filming location as there is a separate section for that..but sometimes there are more than one country listed and I am not sure if it represents where the movie was premiered or where the production company is or what? please let me know if you can help!

It's supposed to represent the nationality of the production companies on the film, although it's not one of the more reliable areas of the site.

Hi Samuel -

The information nac provided above is accurate, the country of a title is defined as the place or places where the production companies for that title are based, and therefore where the financing originated.  Cheers!

I believe it was (partly) filmed in New Zealand. But was the country also partly financing the film? Not sure, I guess someone could check the end credits (maybe some info there).
