what is the movie? B&W maybe early 40s, in English - religious community in France called Weavers

I saw this on the internet, but can't find it now.  Maybe I have the name wrong.  It was a serious, even boring, movie about a religious community that moved in the 1500s from Switzerland to France, then maybe to Low Countries.  Main thing I remember is scenes of yardage of cloth heaving out to dry, and also remember conversations in dark halls about whether to move on or stay and resist.
