Thought I'd post this here until I hear we're doing it somewhere else....

Post the name of the latest movie you've seen and your rating out of 10.

Starship Invasions (1977).  Most bizarre use of a  fusion jazz soundtrack in an alien invasion movie I've ever witnessed.

1/100000000000000000000000 for  Christopher Lee and everyone's acting.  Another 1/1000000000000000 for costume and production design.

10/10 for the Rifftrax commentary.

The Shape of Water - 8/10 I wasn't big on the main story, but everything else was amazing from the casts' performances, and del Toro's overall style.

Nukes in Space (Video 1999), short of an hour, another terrifying Peter Kuran documentary perfectly narrated by William Shatner.  9/10.

Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House - 7/10 - trying to be all madcap fun but it just felt forced. And the "bicker bicker bicker" daughter needed a smack!

I feel like a lot worked and some didn't.

Born to Be Blue - 6/10 - clumsy and disappointing. Hawke came nowhere near capturing the mysterious je ne sais quoi of Baker. Also, having him sing two or three songs and then using Baker recordings for the rest just emphasized what a weak singer he is. Pick one or the other! And I hated that they composited all of his girlfriends/wives into one person. He couldn't even get the speaking voice right. This film just took shortcuts all over the place. A shame.

Get Out - 9/10 - Still so great. Every time I watch it I'm struck by how great and original the score is. When they are driving to her parents' house...it is incredible.

It's funny because the ending was stupid.
