When clicking on “View contributions” link, via Account Settings, it takes me to
the “Sign in” page instead: any reason why please? Thanks...

Not too sure that may be the reason. NEVER seen this before and if so, why would "double security" be necessary? In itself, yes, this IS a double security, but, not for the reasons it is speculating....the jury is still out on this I'm afraid.
This is a browser-isp issue sending conflicting signals and logging you out.
Normally happens with free proxies-vpn which change addresses often. Also some layers of security in the browser-blockers can send conflicting signals causing you to be logged out.
