When an IMDb staff member marks a question answered, do IMDb staff members continue to monitor the thread? The reason why I am asking this question is that I've seen a few threads where discussion continues after an IMDb staff member answers the question and marks the question answered. An example of which is

Staff may mark it answered when it is NOT.
IMO they are just trying to avoid a topic when they do that. Very childish.

A guess is still a guess no matter how "important" you think you are. An answer can only come from staff. The horse may be dead but the race isn't over. I shall continue to pursue this (elsewhere) until I receive a satisfactory answer. I am entitled to defend myself and shall do so. On my side I have access to unlimited time, email, imdb accounts, etc. and can and will use them.
Every time I looked the post times were different. I admitted that the post may have been made after the staff post but that I'd not read it. So your comments about that are unwarranted. As are your misquotes about what has been said.
