You know how it is. Links that "break" with the %20 kindly thrown in at some random point. I don't know any other WEBSITE that has any kind of problems with links or hyperlinking. This is 2013. As in... the future.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, the IMDb board system did not cause breaks in links. Unfortunately, rendering long links caused display problems. Breaking links that are too long at separators was the solution that IMDb implemented. If a user does not edit a post after previewing it or posting it, there are no problems because IMDb still retains the original link. However, the added space (or spaces for really long links) are retained in future edits and cause the links to fail.

A number of posters to IMDb include both the original link and a shorter link created from sites such as tinyURL (http://tinyurl.com/).

Sites such as getsatifaction only show a portion of long links. The IMDb board system was derived in part from Bulletin Board Code (BBCode). Some implementations of BBCode also only show a portion of long links.

I will write this up as a suggestion.
