I'm updating a page to a film of mine on IMDb, and I've added the original language (which is not English), but I cannot find a way of adding the subtitle language on the page. Can anyone advise and walk me through where and how to do this? Thanks

Hi Jinan -

You will need to submit a n Update through our online form from the title page by clicking on the "Edit Page" button.
You will need to scroll down the form until you see the "Basic Data" section, and you will see 'Languages' as an option with a drop-down menu:

You will need to select to 'Add 1 item' and click on the 'Continue' button at the bottom.  You will be redirected to the section of the form where yu can enter the Language, as well as any applicable attributes (such as subtitle):

Continue following the form instructions to submit the Update.

Thanks Michelle. I actually did this (I added English, and included the attribute 'subtitles' ) but under 'Details' on the main page, it just displays like this:
"Language: Arabic | English" and the subtitle attribution for English isn't visible/displayed. Am I missing something?

Thanks again for your help

Jinan: I'm just wondering, but is the (English subtitles) attribute really an essential part of the language designation? If you distribute your film in France or Germany or Spain, will it still have English subtitles, or will you be able to replace them with French or German or Spanish subtitles for the distribution in those countries?

Normally I think of the "language" section of IMDb as where one designates the language of the dialogue, not the language of the subtitles which would vary from country to country.

Thanks for your reply: I see your point completely - I was only thinking that it would be useful for people to see that the film is available to view (and therefore to screen) in English subtitles. So in that case, is there somewhere else that subtitle language(s) can be added to the IMDb entry for a film? Many thanks

No, I don't believe there is, since that data really belongs with the individual print or DVD data. IMDb used to have a DVD (and a LaserDisc) section, but has now decided to leave that data to Amazon, and these sections are no longer active.

I would recommend removing the English (subtitles) listing from the Title page, but when you release it to DVD making certain that this data is clearly listed wherever you decide to place it.
