All my outlines used to be listed as outlines. They are now listed as summaries even though they were all created in the outline edit page. This probably occurred during The Confusion a few months back.

Hi softsofa
I reviewed some of the Plot Summaries you submitted
and see that they are listed on the episode title pages:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3444144/plotsummary/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3444138/plotsummary/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3351822/plotsummary/
I suspect that no Plot Summaries are displaying when your user id is clicked because the data may still be processing.
Please wait another few days and then check again here.

Hello!
Correct me if I am wrong, but, by default, plot outlines—a short introduction to the movie/short/series/etc. of no more than 239 characters—are not included in the total tally of one’s plot summary contributions (regardless of what a quick Google search may indicate).
However, even though a contributor of plot outlines can’t access a total plots’ link analogous to a total plot summaries’ link, one must keep in mind that his efforts are not in vain, as plot outlines are included in a member’s lifetime plot badge.
“How do you expect users to find the outline page?”
Sadly, they can’t.
“All my outlines used to be listed as outlines. They are now listed as summaries even though they were all created in the outline edit page.”
They still are listed as outlines. This is the reason why you don’t see them in your plot summaries link. As for your https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1900105/?ref_=adv_li_tt plot summary which was intended as a plot outline, this one exhibits a certain particularity, as it contains 240 characters.
(Rebecca's innocence is to be determined by trial by combat. Brian de Bois-Guilbert, who loves Rebecca, is chosen as Champion for the court. It is his duty to fight his best. However, if he wins, Rebecca will be killed. A loss means he dies.)
From my (limited) experience, IMDb’s automatic system tends to classify such cases as “summaries” instead of outlines. Next time, keep an eye on those extra characters, and your outlines will remain outlines. Of course, in my eyes, a plot of 241 characters usually doesn’t offer much, and it certainly won’t help much in building a solid reputation as a prolific plot summaries’ contributor—which brings me to my next point.
“... if you look at https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0000001/plotsummary, for example, it is not easy to tell which plot item is a plot outline or a plot summary.”
Again, by default, a title’s plot outline is always listed at the bottom of the movie’s plot summary link—and due to intrinsic limitations—it is the shortest one in comparison to the other plot/plots (one plot outline, and up to five plot summaries per title).
However, every once in a while, cases like the above-mentioned plot, do sneak in the plot summaries’ territory.
Lastly, for a title less than one minute, I believe that an honest, spoiler-free summary of 458 characters is adequate.
I really hope this answer clarifies the situation.
Peter, Champion
