I've seen game designers added to the art department and I've also seen them in miscellaneous. Which one should they actually be in?

Hello ZT,
There are only 76 people listed as "game designer in the Art Department section but there are 3,070 people listed as "game designer in the Other Crew (Miscellaneous crew) section. I would go with Other Crew.

Hi, ZT. I'm not aware of a specific submission guideline concerning this. Where a particular "game designer" credit belongs depends upon the context of the game designer's work, as he/she may be the game maker ("writer") or an artist of graphical elements upon/within the board, stage, set, sandbox or world of the game, as in "art department" or "production design". So/But, given any ambiguity, "game designer" credits can simply be placed in the "other crew" (or "miscellaneous") section. Sometimes the on-screen credits of video games are remarkably unspecific, like listing a whole bunch of people simply under the heading of "game designers".
