William Shakespeare is one of the most important English literature writers and one of the most prolific persons in the IMDb.

In his honour, which one of his world renowned plays has given us the best cinematographical adaptations?

This was originally meant as a 400th Shakespeare anniversary poll, but since it was not used last year I have removed references to that date.

Pencho,

We already have the following two polls on the same subject:

1. Best Shakespeare movie adaptation (with original dialogue)? - http://www.imdb.com/poll/8WdQtCdHuG0/

2. William Shakespeare Inspired Movie Adaptations - http://www.imdb.com/poll/hU10TyNyNTk/

Indeed, but this one is a different question. It asks not about a favourite movie, but about which play has produced the best group of movies in all history.

Ideally you would not vote for a play based on a single adaptation.

Interesting poll I think one of the best is Michael Fassbenders portrait of Macbeth but by far the best is David Tennants Hamlet.

Probably King Lear or Hamlet. I really like this poll and the particular question you asked, keeping the focus on Shakespeare's work. It makes me want to read Macbeth and watch Kenneth Branaugh's Hamlet.

In order to be considered for the home page, some more of the words in the title would have to be capitalized; suggestions are bolded below:

I'm glad you like it. I spend sometime researching for it when it was Shakespeare 400th anniversary last year and I was kind of sad it had not been picked on that date. But I felt it was worthy to keep it around and give it another push. It surprised me to see it today.

I'll make the title changes you suggest.

They must be. If they are not mentioned in the poll is because it was impossible to enter all Shakespeare adaptation and I only added the highest and most voted version of each play at the time of this suggestion.
