Hi Mhd Ghiath Hb,

You are effectively asking: why does the general public frequently prefer experiences that they perceive to be fun over experiences that have long lasting value?

There is probably no simple answer to your question, which philosophers have posed throughout the ages in one form or another. However, members of the entertainment community know this to be true and produce books, games, plays, films, television programs and other forms of entertainment that cater to public demand. In the words of PT Barnum:

“Nobody ever lost a dollar by underestimating the taste of the American public.”

My first thought is pretty much what Dan Dassow, but I'd add (having been at the mall today) that there is enormous opportunity for selling related merchandise even after the ticket sales and DVD sales receipts have come in...what with t-shirts, figurines, lunch boxes, Halloween or party costumes, and anything else they can come up with.

Having this opportunity for extra profits makes it a guaranteed money-maker and so they will put a lot into them, including lots and lots of advertising...which means all of us sheep go where they lead us (well, not so much those if us engaged in this discussion, I'd guess...

You're completely correct. Young people attend movies more often. They'd probably prefer lots of action and special effects over seeing Meryl Streep and Robert De Niro in an award winning drama. Profit has nothing to do with winning awards, usually.
