I'm on Central time and it's annoying on the message boards to keep seeing the times listed, not only in military time format, but Pacific time at that. Where and is it possible, to change the time zone that shows up for me in IMDB message board posts?

Thanks! :)

It is currently not possible to specify a time zone.

This was suggested a while ago in the idea thread Select time zones. You might want to Like that thread as IMDb uses the number of people who show interest as one of the considerations when deciding what features to implement.

Thanks for the reply! I guess it's just something that may happen eventually or over time. I just thought it was interesting that IMDB hasn't implemented it yet... Very odd to me!

The problem is the 90's technology and the hodgepodge that is IMDb.com.  Were they to fix the timezone problem, they would likely break something else that doesn't even appear to be related.

lol That's entirely possible... :P I just don't understand why it's such a tough issue for them to fix in all honesty... Different types of internet forums do it all the time, so IMDB shouldn't be behind on something that simple. :/

The core of IMDB code was originally written back in the early to mid '90s. The problem is they are also one of the largest databases in the world and trying to change over to new tech is not as simple as it sounds without risking massive data loss.

Compound this with a very small team and minimal income most of which goes to bandwidth costs and you end up with a multi-decade long process to upgrade the site to modern standards because they are trying to minimize all potential loss along the way.

Most sites could upgrade far more easily because they would at some point just toss all old data and start fresh; which is something IMDB can't risk doing.

It's never as simple as it sounds.

What's the latest on time zone?

I am in Australia and the time zone is a little more trickier to calculate/offset.

For example I am looking at The Walking Dead series Season7 Ep12 , it says it's showing on 06 March but is that America's 06 March or Australia's 06 March ?
