This series was released in 2016 in UK, but the US dates are now shown at first. The series has then now a "2016-2017" range, while it was shot only in 2016.
Is this the usual way to do in IMDb?

Hi Belmer -
If the series was first released in 2016 in the UK, the episode release dates should reflect that (not the US release dates). You will need to individually submit the episode Release Date corrections through our online form, all episode title pages on our site include an 'Edit Page' button which allows comments/corrections to be submitted to our data editors.

Thanks for this answer, Michelle.
I tried to see why the US dates appear at first, but I don't see any reason but a possible reverse chronological order... Should there be "TV Premiere" set as attribute to have the UK dates to be shown at first? For now, as I don't want/have to change the dates (I guess they're all good!) but only the way they appears, the updating form for the release dates don't work: the answer I get when I try to leave a message is
"This item has been rejected. You need to correct this item before it will be accepted." :/
Should I propose a wrong date on purpose so the editors can notice the problem? This would be a weird method :)
There's now only one episode (the 8th and last one) left with the accurate 2016 date, most probably because this episode has not yet been aired in USA...

I don't think you should try to change the data. It's a display issue.

Don't worry, I won't change anything. As said above, it would be strange workaround :)
Is this a display issue or site setting one? The tests I mention in my last comment below could indicate a browser origin, but even on "2016 friendly" browsers, the series now shows a "2016 - 2017" line for the episodes on its main page, even if no new episodes were shot in 2017. Will it show only 2017 (with the actors mentioned for 2016 only) when Adrian will add the 2017 airing date for the last episode?

Belmer, generally I enter the US date when I watch the episodes. However, someone else has entered the US release dates for episodes 6 & 7. The release date entered for episode 7 is incorrect. Cambodia does not air in the US until 8/28, not 8/21 when Rome is being re-run. Currently, I don't know when episode 8 will air. TV Guide doesn't list it yet nor does my DVR. When I know, I will enter it.

Are you based in the US belmer? For me, the site shows the release date in the US (regardless of previous earlier release dates). I've been adding the US release dates to the episodes of Hooten & the Lady and as they are approved, the release date I see changes to the US release date.

Hi Adrian.
No, I'm in France, and I'm usually unlogged (with cookies disabled). This is why I found it weird to see the US dates showing at first (logged or unlogged) for Hooten...: for now, all movies and series were showing the initial release dates, whatever their country of origin. Which sounds the most logical, for me.

Hey Belmer,
I'm going to guess that IMDb defaults to "US" if it doesn't know your location or if it does know your location but doesn't have a location specific release date. Hooten & the Lady is changing for you because I enter a US release date as I watch the series. So, before July or so, there was only the UK release date. There is probably now a US release date for the first 4 or 5 episodes.
I'm not sure what the desired behavior is. I tend to agree with you that it should be earliest release date. Maybe Michelle will respond.

I made further tests, all as unlogged visitor: on my computer, smartphone and tablet, the 2016 dates appear as main ones when connecting with:
- Opera,
- Midori (Webkit layout engine too)*,
- Qupzilla (Webkit too),
- Chrome*,
- Privacy Browser (Android - Smartphone),
- Tint Browser (Android - Tablet),
- Web Browser (Android - Tablet - One of the many to share this name on Android)*.
But the 2017 ones are default when using:
- Firefox (with and without cookies/add-ons enabled),
- Pale Moon (Goanna layout engine)*
- Chromium (which is said to be the open-source basis of Chrome ???)*,
- Lynx (text-based web browser),
- Chrome for Android (Smartphone),
- Lightning (Android - Smartphone),
- Web Browser (Android - Tablet - Different from the one cited above)*.
(The * means a fresh install, i.e. without any setting nor add-on)
I asked a friend to test on his Ipad (browser name unknown), he got the 2016 date. Another friend, living in a town about 70 miles away from me, got the "2017 case" with Firefox too (she doesn't have any other web browser on her computer, so I couldn't ask her for more tests).
My conclusion: this apparently doesn't come from the settings of the browser nor from the layout engine. This said Webkit based browsers seem to all accept the "2016 default".
I don't know what to test now to understand where this behavior comes from.
