I'm betting that my time on IDMB is going to be reduced by at least 95%.  I used to log onto the TV listings at the start of each day.  I could click on a TV show's page for each episode to find out who was guest staring.  I could then click on an actor's page.  Being logged on each day increased my use of the site.  Without a link from the listings to the shows and the actors right in front of me, I will have to log onto IDMB to look things up and I doubt I will use the site much anymore.  The listings are similar to a store advertising a loss leader to get people into the store, without it, I won't be going through the front door.

I agree.  The TV Listings made me check IMDB daily and it was great.  Why would you ever take that away, unless you're planning on making us pay for it now!   Greed won't get my vote!

I agree and support strongly for IMDB to bring back TV Listings. IMDB has been a great source of entertainment information since forever.  But without TV Listings, we have to go straight to the various networks' schedule listing to read what they are showing for the day/week.  If this is IMDB's intent, well...

I get the TV guide like I have since 1979. It has gotten worse little by little every year. It starts at 6:00 Central where I live & stops at 10:00. You don't know whats on before or after, so I go to IMDB. The TV guide is not always right either, so I go to IMDB. I checked IMDB all day long & now I can't. They talk about low usage. If I could have used it longer than 24 hours a day, I would have. I was doing my part to give them usage hours & I don't think I was the only one by what I have read here.
Are you reading these comments IMDB Executives or are your minds set in concrete & acting as stubborn as a mule.

the zapit link that she gave doesn't even give the right listings. It's a link to movie times so, yes, she did pass the buck.  But here is the correct link to zap it...I don't know if you will find it helpful or not. http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tvlistings/ZCGrid.do

and here is a New one

https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/the-tv-schedule-listings-are-missing
The TV listings are missing.  /tvgrid redirects to /tv.
Some pages have an "On tonight" in top menu, but that uses the tvgrid link.
Are the listings gone for good or just lost during page tweaking?

We have decided to remove the TV Listings Grid for a couple of reasons.  Not only did the TV Listings Grid have low usage, but as more and more people have moved to viewing TV shows on streaming services, the TV Listings Grid was outdated, incomplete, and has outlived its usefulness.

We understand from your vocal comments that some of you dearly miss this feature. We are sorry for any inconvenience and hope you stay with us and give us the chance to delight you with improved and new features and experiences we launch in the future.

Once the bull has left the corral, it's hard to get him back in, with out enticing him with something. They're going to do what they want to do regardless of what we want or say. All I can say is keep up the good fight people. Some of us are getting to old to give a crap & life is too short to spend it arguing with a fence post. All I wanted was for them to bring the TV listings back & make our lives easier & all I get in response are lame excuses. Trying to steer them back on the right track is trying to steer the Titanic away from the ice berg. It takes a while & sometimes you lose.

... we have decided to disable IMDb’s message boards on February 20, 2017.
This includes the Private Message system.
After in-depth discussion and examination,
we have concluded that IMDb’s message boards
are no longer providing a positive,
useful experience for the vast majority
of our more than 250 million monthly users worldwide.
The decision to retire a long-standing feature
was made only after careful consideration and was based on data and traffic...

What is low usage ? Maybe it's because the page was light and clean and you weren't getting the ad clicks you wanted.I get the problem with binge watch streaming sites. Fine, here's a solution, a very easy one. How about a "recommend" side panel with stuff on Amazon, Netflix, Hulu etc that link to them. They can pay you for a web url image they host and can change then you can get revenue from that link. Like https:www.netflix.com/showID/image.url. Super easy, plus easy revenue.

Anyway, My usage of IMDB has now gone to just pausing a show I watch to see what other stuff a certain actor/actress has been in.

Thanks,

Bye.

Guess it is goodbye to imdb. Low usage for the tvgrid??? LOL, I think not. Came here mainly for the tvgrid for years and would happen to read other things on here after the grid. But, now, there is no use in coming back except maybe to vote on movies and shows I have seen if I feel like bothering to do that anymore. Guess votes don't matter on this site, either.

I was told in an email response from the Imdb "contact us" help that they have intentional removed the grid and it is up to us a viewers of the site to give our input here to have it restored.  I encourage everyone to email, comment, express your opinion on this matter, wherever you can.

I have a special needs adult son, who counts on this TV grid everyday and he is most distressed that it is no longer available.

Not sure where you "vote" on this, if you know please forward that info to me.

I have seen "low usage" as the reason the TV Listing feature was removed.  I checked the TV Listing every day.

I wonder what the genii in the web development department at IMDB are using as a comparison.  So, the question is "Compared to what?".  The options in the dropdown menu are
Which of the options on the dropdown menu would possibly get more usage than the TV Listing feature?  I don't see anything on the dropdown menu I would rather see than the TV Listing option, especially on a daily basis.

You got a point there. I have never clicked on any of them. As far as the list of top rated TV shows & most popular TV shows goes, I watch what I want to watch. I don't care what everyone else is watching. If you were someone who did check this list, would you check it again the next day or later during that same day, as we do with the TV listings. I really doubt if anyone would click on it again before 6 months or more have passed. I really do like what you have noticed, that I didn't even think about until now, because I have never in my years ever clicked on any of those links. thank you Charles.

I have satellite, and although Gainesville, FL is nearby (15 miles), the provider places me in the Jacksonville market.  (50 miles).  So the local papers and TV Guide are useless.

I hear your pain Rusty. I don't have that problem, so it never occurred to me, that there are people out there who do. So IMDB, there is yet a whole new group of people who depended on the TV grid, to see what was on. Something else tells me you people have no idea exactly how meany people were using the TV grid that you claim had low usage. Poppy cock. I can't use bad words on here.

Yes, I agree, it totally sucks that they removed the TV listings.  Eventually people will stop using IMDB if they don't bring back the listings.  IMDB had the best listings, but if I have to go elsewhere for them, I'll use those sites for other purposes too.  Bring them back or fail, IMDB!
PS:  The TV listings on the zap2it site are NOTHING LIKE the IMDB listings.  Many networks are completely blank, as if nothing is on, when I can see that there IS something on.  Don't pass us off to another site that isn't nearly the same.  Come on IMBD, I thought you were better than this!

I first started coming to IMDB as a suggestion from a friend who told me about the site when I couldn't remember what I saw a certain actor play in. While I was there I noticed the TV listings & how much more complete they were instead of the TV Guide. I came back everyday after that first initial visit, often several times a a day to see what was on or the name of the show or movie that caught my eye on the TV. Checking the TV listings became an everyday part of my daily routine. I always left it on in my browser when I was doing something else on the computer, so it was always active on my computer just by the click of a button. If my computer was on, so was my connection to the IMDB TV listings page. To answer your original question. I will continue to come back to look up an actor or his background which was the whole reason I found this site in the first place. Only now my usage will be very low & my visits only when my memory fails me. Thank you IMDB for giving my browser more breathing room & less clutter.

Thank you Cary for your help & suggestion. I saw that other people suggested Zap2it so I started using it. It's not as good as IMDB's grid was because it doesn't go into as much detail showing the up coming episodes & a list of the actors & actresses on the episode. I'm still hoping that IMDB will reconsider their stupid act.

Me?
I am sitting in front of my computer early morning til late at night
with the large screen TV next to the monitor
watching TV shows and old movies

I look up whatever I am watching on TV on IMDb
reading trivia, goofs, reviews etc
oh, and who was that actor that played the butler ????
seen him before many times but do not know his name

IMDb TV Grid was helpful in doing all this

Please bring the listings back - I liked the easy interface back to IMdB features & information. You could add “clicks” to advertise “networks,” new or re-released movies, specials, etc. to make it worth ($) your work. Another “feature” would be the happiness of the users that miss and desire the reintroduction of this feature. Thanks for your time!
