I'm betting that my time on IDMB is going to be reduced by at least 95%.  I used to log onto the TV listings at the start of each day.  I could click on a TV show's page for each episode to find out who was guest staring.  I could then click on an actor's page.  Being logged on each day increased my use of the site.  Without a link from the listings to the shows and the actors right in front of me, I will have to log onto IDMB to look things up and I doubt I will use the site much anymore.  The listings are similar to a store advertising a loss leader to get people into the store, without it, I won't be going through the front door.

This change has to be reducing their web traffic and click rates to other links.

I agree.  The TV Listings made me check IMDB daily and it was great.  Why would you ever take that away, unless you're planning on making us pay for it now!   Greed won't get my vote!

I agree and support strongly for IMDB to bring back TV Listings. IMDB has been a great source of entertainment information since forever.  But without TV Listings, we have to go straight to the various networks' schedule listing to read what they are showing for the day/week.  If this is IMDB's intent, well...

The TV Guide is useless with the way it is now.  The grid starts at 8pm like there's nothing on TV prior to that.

I get the TV guide like I have since 1979. It has gotten worse little by little every year. It starts at 6:00 Central where I live & stops at 10:00. You don't know whats on before or after, so I go to IMDB. The TV guide is not always right either, so I go to IMDB. I checked IMDB all day long & now I can't. They talk about low usage. If I could have used it longer than 24 hours a day, I would have. I was doing my part to give them usage hours & I don't think I was the only one by what I have read here.
Are you reading these comments IMDB Executives or are your minds set in concrete & acting as stubborn as a mule.

the zapit link that she gave doesn't even give the right listings. It's a link to movie times so, yes, she did pass the buck.  But here is the correct link to zap it...I don't know if you will find it helpful or not. http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tvlistings/ZCGrid.do

Please restore this as I hate going to the TV guide site as it is terrible. I liked having it on this site which I already visit multiple times a day.

imdb.com/tvgrid now goes to default tv page. The default grid was the best tv listing out there without lame videos popping up, etc.

It is major disappointment to see the TV showtimes has been removed from the IMDB website.  It was very handy.  I simply cannot understand why the genii web developers at IMDB would do something to reduce traffic at the IMDB website.
Bad Idea!!

To all of you who clicked like & I got an email for. You are the people I am taking my time to write these comments for. I believe they are falling on deaf ears. Once the bull has left the corral, it's hard to get him back in, with out enticing him with something. They're going to do what they want to do regardless of what we want or say. All I can say is keep up the good fight people. Some of us are getting to old to give a crap & life is too short to spend it arguing with a fence post. All I wanted was for them to bring the TV listings back & make our lives easier & all I get in response are lame excuses. Trying to steer them back on the right track is trying to steer the Titanic away from the ice berg. It takes a while & sometimes you lose.

... we have decided to disable IMDb’s message boards on February 20, 2017.
This includes the Private Message system.
After in-depth discussion and examination,
we have concluded that IMDb’s message boards
are no longer providing a positive,
useful experience for the vast majority
of our more than 250 million monthly users worldwide.
The decision to retire a long-standing feature
was made only after careful consideration and was based on data and traffic...

Hi Michael.  I hope at some point someone here realizes the big mistake that was made.  Giving a reason of "low usage" is baloney...as evidenced by all the comments I'm reading from lots of angry people.

Lori, you sound like a nice lady who puts things in more elegant terms than I would have but we can't really use those kind of words on here, now can we. There may be kids reading. It's a whole crap load of baloney & much more.

What is low usage ? Maybe it's because the page was light and clean and you weren't getting the ad clicks you wanted.I get the problem with binge watch streaming sites. Fine, here's a solution, a very easy one. How about a "recommend" side panel with stuff on Amazon, Netflix, Hulu etc that link to them. They can pay you for a web url image they host and can change then you can get revenue from that link. Like https:www.netflix.com/showID/image.url. Super easy, plus easy revenue.

Anyway, My usage of IMDB has now gone to just pausing a show I watch to see what other stuff a certain actor/actress has been in.

Thanks,

Bye.

If someone goes to the IMDB website to check TV showtimes and then decides to look up more information on a specific program or do anything else on the website, it would seem having the TV showtimes offering is definitely a good thing.

I agree with and Jason and Charles regarding other info and links - I always use the imdb to check tv and movie trivia and background - I WAS EVEN THRILLED TO BE ADDED TO IMDB RECENTLY FOR BEING A SHORT FILM 'PRODUCER'.  You're killing the excitement of that.    AKA MAYORJERRY

Who decides the low usage crap. No body checked with me. The TV grid is on my computer all day & most of the night to see whats coming on. I guess your stupid ads weren't getting any attention, because the clean TV grid was perfect.

Guess it is goodbye to imdb. Low usage for the tvgrid??? LOL, I think not. Came here mainly for the tvgrid for years and would happen to read other things on here after the grid. But, now, there is no use in coming back except maybe to vote on movies and shows I have seen if I feel like bothering to do that anymore. Guess votes don't matter on this site, either.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled no TV grid?.

through the years the ONE FEATURE i used regularly was the TV grid.  Without it i probably won't bother coming to IMDB much any more.   Pretty pathetic they would remove the 50% of their site that has the most people using it. (all my friends used it regularly.   now we must find a site who cares about what the people want)  Here's a suggestion...  before removing the most used parts of your site, why not ASK the people coming here if they want/use/care about it first?  Oh yeah.... that would show intelligence and a desire to be of service to those of us who come here every day.   Whoever made that decision really screwed up.  I have told most of my friends already that your site is no longer catering to our needs.   I wonder how many people will stop coming now that you ave eliminated the main reason we came here.   so sad.  this used to be a good site for ALL visual entertainment...   now it is only half what it used to be.  Absolutely terrible decision.  (are you guys related to the guy who changed the formula for Coca Cola in the 1970s?  it seems like it, because the effect is the same for this ill-conceived decision.)
