Why do I keep getting asked to verify my account when I've already posted here once and have successfully logged in?

I can't post a reply to someone answering my previous post. I was able to successfully login in, and my name appears on the screen, but it won't allow me to post until I "verify" my account. Now I just did this a couple of weeks ago when I made my original post, so why do I have to do this every time? How ridiculous! I entered my cellphone number but didn't receive a text with a code. This is the most convoluted procedure I've ever come across online. Help!
