Why does IMDb's box office revenue list not match Box Office Mojo's ?

Surely I am missing a filter or something. Or perhaps I misunderstand how each site defines the terms.

So for example, the 2017 Domestic Box Office rankings stop around #591 when counting documentary, and feature films:

https://www.imdb.com/search/title?title_type=feature,documentary&release_date=2017-01-01,2018-01...

But on Box Office Mojo it goes until 740.

https://www.boxofficemojo.com/yearly/chart/?page=8&view=releasedate&view2=domestic&yr=20...

Since Box Office Mojo is an IMDb owned company, they should have the same data set, no?

What am I missing?

Thank you for any bone you can throw my way!

Hi culturecon,

We appreciate you taking the time to reach out! Although we do own both Box Office Mojo and IMDb are the same company and we share data as much as is possible, we are still working on aligning the complete data set across all sites.
