Jon: Do you mean you are trying to add the keyword "box-office-hit" to those films, as it has been applied to the films listed at http://www.imdb.com/search/keyword?keywords=box-office-hit?

If so, before you try again, I would recommend waiting for the IMDb staff to weigh in on this. Some users, including myself, have questioned whether "box-office-hit" should be used as a keyword at all, so I would like the staff to comment on whether it is an appropriate keyword. (And even more so for its opposite, "box-office-flop" at http://www.imdb.com/search/keyword?keywords=box-office-flop. In fact, 20 titles have both of these keywords: http://www.imdb.com/search/keyword?keywords=box-office-flop,box-office-hit.)

If you are not talking about the keyword "box-office-hit", please provide more details.

Hi Jon -

If this is still an issue, can you provide the additional details gromit82 requested so we can narrow down the problem?

Michelle: I was hoping that the staff would comment on the appropriateness of using "box-office-hit" and/or "box-office-flop" as keywords. Admittedly, that may not be relevant to Jon's problem, but I think there is a good chance that he is asking about the "box-office-hit" keyword.

Apologies for the delay in replying here.  Our data editor researched and found no existing rejections of the keyword for 'box-office-hit'.

The keyword submission guide here will clarify the formatting  to submit Keywords, if you believe "box office hits" should be listed for a title, please ensure to insert 'hyphen' between words, e.g. box-office-hit.

In terms of validity of a keyword - a keyword is a word (or group of connected words) attached to a title (movie / TV series / TV episode) to describe any notable object, concept, style or action that takes place during a title. The main purpose of keywords is to allow visitors to easily search and discover titles. Please bear that in mind when submitting any keywords to any title.
