Why is a link to user lists still absent, after discussion on this 6 years ago!

It is IMPOSSIBLE to find any user lists unless one accidentally stumbles across one. So easy for IMDb to create a link to user lists, enabling those of us who value what others recommend and allow us to look for these films. I've found many an interesting film in the few user lists I've happened upon, films which are not easily found or known about.
This subject was raised in this forum SIX years ago, with someone from staff saying they would look into creating such a link. Surely it's not that difficult to do, for God's sake?

Thanks for the feedback.  Please can you describe the idea in more detail (or link to the specific older idea thread)?

We link to lists from user activity pages (see mine @ https://www.imdb.com/user/ur1000000/) and from title pages (https://www.imdb.com/lists/tt4154664) and name pages (https://www.imdb.com/lists/nm0488953)

Thanks Col for your response. I don't have any specific genres or user names in mind, just wanted to see the whole gamut of user-created lists so that I could check them out and see which I wanted to look at in detail so I could then decide which if any I wanted to search for and view. Does this make sense?
The link to your page doesn't satisfy my query, because you're telling me I need to specify a specific user (ie you) in order to see your list.
The second and third links above go to lists for titles with Captain Marvel or Brie Larson in. Again, this doesn't answer my query.
I want to see all user lists without the need to specify a particular user name or indeed genre.

Are you referring to this discussion?
https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/i_think_a_search_engine_for_list_name_is_necessary

I don't know what you mean (in your subject) "a link to user lists", because every title page has links to user lists on which the title appears, and doesn't a user profile page have a link to the user's lists?

Perhaps you're defaulted to Reference view for titles, which does not show user lists.
If the url for titles you view have the word reference in it, then that's an issue. Example:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2404425/reference
If so, go here
https://www.imdb.com/preferences/general
and un-check the last option ("Contributors").

Yes bderoes, I was referring to the discussion you highlight. (See my response to Col's answer, I hope that clarifies my query...)
The two URLs you mention don't do what I'm looking for, ie show me ALL user lists in a generic fashion, that is without me having to pre-specify a user name, title, or genre, or indeed any other parameter. I simply want to see all lists created by users so that I can then choose which list(s) to view in detail.

Jim,

Are you aware that you are talking of user lists by tens of thousands?
Personally, when I just browse the titles of proposed user list when navigating, 99,5% have not interest at all, are redundant, not maintained, etc.
OK, since I am no list buff, maybe I miss where they can be useful, but so far I am not convinced.

I had no idea Vincent that there are tens of thousands of user lists! That greatly qualifies my query, although it is odd that Col didn't mention it... Guess I would get lost in an unending forest of, as you say, potentially and probably meaningless lists (to me), but... if they had a flag or title such as some lists have which I've found (eg Oscar Winners 1990s, b&w noir, etc.) then of course one can check only those lists whose titles prick an interest. It doesn't matter if the lists are not maintained, I would value simply being made aware of films which, as I've discovered with the handful of lists I've come across so far, I am made aware of for the first time, often because they are not Hollywood popular ones or otherwise mainstream.

If you tried to see them all you would need 6-15 Lifetimes to view them all.
If you want to see related lists, just pick any related movie and look to the right of the page. It's that simple.
The Godfather.

Ed Jones (XLIX),
Your query returns every use of the words you entered, probably including links to GetSatisfaction threads discussing IMDb lists.
This might be closer, but Google doesn't let you skip ahead very well to what the latter pages look like (I tried modifying the start= in the url.) This estimate:  774,000.

I know that!
if 15-20% are IMDb related!!!
Multiply by extrapolation.
That's too many for a data search inquiry that would list all lists within the database.
Impossible to view.
Impossible to view all lists and all items within such lists.
Soooooooooo.
Who would want to?

And Peter,
a Double Gulp and 5 Calf Pows to boot!!!

Thank you all for your input, leading to an unusual experience of preternatural enlightenment for me, and bringing about a state of heretofore unexperienced humility.
I am now going to retreat to a distant forest, in a faraway, as-yet-undiscovered land, away from all further human contact and involvement, in order to meditate for the rest of my days upon the enormity of what I have just been privileged to learn from you all... May god bless you all.
