Why is The Sinner showing an end title year while it is barely into its second season and still airing new episodes. The IMDB Help Desk has told me that it is their policy not to add an end year while the show is still air episodes. (They wouldn't add the end year for The Americans though it was well known that it was in it's final season.) Also, I've seen no news of whether USA will renew or cancel it for season 3.

You either know for sure what the end year is and you display it or you don't know for sure what the end year is and don't display it. Whether or not a series is still running doesn't and shouldn't enter into it.
If this is the current policy, I feel it should be changed.

I feel it should be changed. The best thing to do is propose this as a separate idea (generally replies added to a thread which is marked "Answered" or "Solved" are unlikely to be read by anyone on the staff; occasionally we do a catch-up run and reset the status, but new or follow-up issues should be posted as new threads once something hits "Answered" / "Solved").

It's just that I noticed this policy here for the first time and don't see any reasoning behind it. I'll start a new thread.

It is just that providing feedback here on a tangental subject would be awkward.
