Why Was the Fox Television Animation credit removed from so many entries?

Yesterday I noticed that the Fox Television Animation company page (http://www.imdb.com/company/co0159275/) has far fewer listings than it used to.  Nearly all of the Family Guy credits (that is, for individual episodes) are gone, except for a "series level" credit.  I'm not sure why this is, because every episode from season 2 to present says "Produced at Fox Television Animation" in the credits, so why was it removed from the Production Companies for individual episodes?

Hi ianlueck -

If the company credits were incorrectly removed from the "Family Guy" episodes you mentioned, please submit the company credits through our online Update form so our staff can take a look.
All pages on our site include an 'Edit Page' button which allows comments/corrections to be submitted to our data editors.

If you try to add a production company to en episode page, you'll see this message:

"While data in this category can be added at the episode level, you should try to enter it for the entire series if at all possible."

I've always taken this to mean that the series-level credit is sufficient.

Maybe I'm incorrect in this thinking, but I consider the company credits listed on the main show page to be sort of a "series overview".  So if a company only worked on part of the series, it can be listed with a date or season range in the attribute field.  It doesn't mean that companies can't be added to individual episodes as well.

It really clogs up those company pages, though.

Why even have production and miscellaneous companies on individual episode listings then?  Saying "companies should only be listed on the main series page, anything else is redundant" defeats the purpose of episodic listings, where certain companies (whether it be production companies, special effects companies, or miscellaneous companies) may only work on certain episodes.

Furthermore, if the concern is clogging up the company pages, there's a solution:  Make page numbers for the company pages - i.e. "Displaying results 1 of 100", "101 to 200", etc.

If a company was only credited on a few episodes, I would only list it on those episodes. But I'm not sure where to draw the line, and some added guidance in the submission guides would be useful.
