WHY WON'T IMDB ALLOW ME TO MAKE IMPORTANT CHANGES?

I recently (a few weeks ago) sent in changes to my biographical information - and also hope to add credits to my list - but NOTHING has happened!  None of the changes have been made, and this is really a problem for me - especially when people are searching my name for work-related inquiries.  I have many more credits than appear on IMDB, and I have the information necessary to prove that they are legitimate.  WHY WON'T IMDB ALLOW ME TO MAKE IMPORTANT CHANGES?  If I sign up for IMDB PRO, will that help?  This is unbelievably frustrating!

IMDb Pro won't help in the submission process. If you provide the submission number and the full description of the submission from the email confirmation you received for each, someone here can assist you.

You appear to have a misapprehension about IMDb. IMDb is a database of historical information; it is not (primarily) a resume site where you can choose what you wish to display. IMDb does not remove accurate information, and your relationships are information that is of interest to the User. IMDb will not remove those trivia items; certain not because they "unnecessary for [your] professional career".

You don't deny making the listed Personal Quote, so IMDb is unlikely to remove it, even if you would not make it today.

For the other items, the Explanation can be very important. One of yours indicated that you were Adding/correcting qv(s), when there were no such items in the Trivia item. This type of sloppiness is going to throw doubt on the accuracy of all the items.

As I noted above IMDb does not like to remove items. If you wish to get your Birth Name removed, you will need to provide some evidence that it is incorrect. Even then, it is easier to get it changed to the correct value. I don't understand what your meant by New documentation gives conflicting information. What new documentation is there for a Birth Name?

I am hesitant to email you a photo from my U.S. Passport that shows my true name, which is different, mostly reversed, from what I was originally told and believed it to be for many, many years.  Would you like to see that?  At that point, would IMDB correct my actual name?

Documentation helps a lot...especially in your case.

Have you/do you, use dropbox.com or box.com? What they do is, allow you to put a document into your dropbox, then get a link to it. You can submit your request to edit, and either in an "explanation" field, or if there is none, add a "Miscellaneous" comment and add the link. What it does is keep that image in the 'cloud' and then once it's been updated, you can delete the image and it no longer is 'out there' like if you uploaded the image to a pic hosting site, etc.

Also, if the submission has been sent and could not be verified, you can use dropbox to create a link to the image of your documents and then use the 'data verification form' http://www.imdb.com/helpdesk/data_verification to add your evidence to your submission.

It's amazing how complicated it is for me to get IMDB to simply refer to me by my LEGAL name.

I can understand that. I kind of wonder why they even have the "birth" name other than people seem to be interested in that kind of thing.

Primarily, though, IMDb refers (by the heading on Name Pages) to people by the name by which they're most often and most recently credited on screen...which makes more sense. But it really is a pain to have to correct things like birth dates and birth names if they've been added wrong. It makes me think that people will give up and leave inaccurate information on the site (and be disgruntled about it in the process) which of course is something they really should not want.

Good Golly! Don't post that link here. This is a public forum and posts can be seen by anyone in the world. It would even show in a google search.

I removed that so it's no longer visible.

As I said above, put that link into the "explanation" field or add as a "Miscellaneous Comment" when making your submission. Or, if you've already  submitted it, send it directly to staff privately on the data verification form http://www.imdb.com/helpdesk/data_verification

But yes, that's probably work fine.
