IMDB why won't you remove my name from the film I requested 3 times already!  I do not want my name to appear on this site or attached to a film I was in ages ago, I do not act and it was a gig with friends.  What information do I need to provide to have this removed.  Because of this, I have 3 or 4 other random websites displaying this information when I google search my name.  I do not want to be associated with this film! Contact me and resolve this problem immediately!

You state you were in this film, so you are already connected. I know of no way for this credit to be removed unless you can prove you are not credited on the film or that the film does not qualify to be listed on IMDb.

There's an option on the website to remove or delete credits.  They never get back to you, and because I was in a short student film is no reason my name needs to remain on this website if I do not give consent for further use of my name.

There is an option to delete in case it's completely false information. It's not to be used if the info is accurate. They will not remove your credit, leaving the listing incomplete, based on personal preference.

that is ridiculous how can a organization retain personal information against the will of the individual without ever collecting consent of keeping such information?

What "personal information?" If the film qualified for inclusion, was shown publicly, the credits are public information and they don't need any permission to display them. IMDb is just documenting that that name appeared in the credits of a publicly shown film/show.

If you're saying this film did not ever meet eligibility, you can contact staff directly explaining the reasons it does not qualify, as explained http://www.imdb.com/help/search?domai...

But they won't just remove one credit, leaving the listing inaccurate and incomplete, because you don't like it.

Yep, IMDb dominated the top 3 results of my Google search for your name, and IMDb took the first and third results in a Bing search.
I do not act
I suppose that doesn't matter to IMDb. The IMDb bio may forever say "Ryan _____ is an actor" even though you only acted in one short film. (Once an actor, always an actor?) Because IMDb is a popular site, those IMDb pages may continue to appear among top web search results for your name. It can't be helped.

(I'm not an actor either.  I am glad that I once avoided an opportunity to appear in a short film:  In hindsight I probably would've regretted the consequences.)

Just curious...did your name appear in the on screen credits?

I have a similar problem but it differs in that along with the film I was in being listed correctly, I am listed as production crew on 2 or 3 other films that I wasn't in and these films are soft porn-like in nature. IMDB doesn't seem to do what you ask in the deletion forms at all, I've tried 10 s of times over the last 10 years to remove the incorrect credits and nothing ever happens.

While subject is similar, it's not the same name/titles nor same problem being discussed. So post has been forked into it's own discussion.

Please reference the new conversation here: How can I remove credits for second person are being put under my Name Page?

If you weren't in the film, then perhaps take a screenshot of the credits to prove you weren't in it.

If you were in it, then... why would you want to not be credited for your work? Was the film that bad?

Jimmy,

It says, right in the OP, that he was in the film but simply doesn't want it listed on the Name Page in his name.  That's not possible.  IMDb is not a resume service (though they provide one via IMDbPro) but a factual document of on screen credits.

FYI, this is a discussion that took place 10 months ago.
