Why won't IMDB remove producer credits that I did not receive screen credit for?

IMDB lists me as producer of 14 videos for which I am not a credited producer, and on which my name does not appear at all. I have requested that these 14 credits be removed from my IMDB page 3 times this year. I can understand why IMDB might refuse to delete credits that DO appear on a film or video, but that is not what is going on here. Why is this?

Have you ever shown them screen captures of on screen credits to prove what you say?

14 sounds like an unlikely number of wrong credits.  Is it possible they go to someone else with a same/similar name?  I think that's more likely, so that should probably be considered and a correction is always much easier to get than a removal.

Can you be more specific? Like which is your name page, which are the credits?

If not, can you post the submission ID numbers so staff can check on the status?

Are you, by any chance, this Matthew Seig

Are the credits, by any chance, the 14 Rivertown Film Society credits?

If so, Rivertown Film Society does, indeed, have an Executive Director named Matthew Seig (see http://www.rivertownfilm.org/about/).  So, If that is not you, you'll need to move the credits for those titles to a page for Matthew Seig (II) and off your page.

Just spit-ballin' here until you add verification that this is the issue.

Thank you for your reply and research. You are correct, that is me. But being the Executive Director of this organization in no way makes me the producer of the videos, just as the Executive Directors of thousands of other organizations are not the producers of videos made under the auspicies of their organizations. The videos in question do not have production credits on them at all, so there is nothing to take a screen shot of. Any other thoughts?

Thanks for the explanation.  I submitted a request to remove these credits, explaining and linking to the Society's site.  Lets see how it goes and work from there. They might need further evidence, but we can check back and see what else we can do.

I included a link to this discussion too. If you have anything else to add that might help them out, post it here and the link will lead them to it (it made sense to me, but they might need more).

Fingers crossed.

BluesmanSF, thank you for your help. I can't think of anything to add right now, other than my connection to these videos, as useful and interesting as I think these videos are, is pretty slight. It's not just that it isn't appropriate, but given my role in the organization and my own history of producing, it is inappropriate. Fingers crossed.
