There have been no updates for the Windows Phone app since 18 June 2012, over 1 year ago. this app doesn't take advantage of the WP8 features such as live tiles and we're also not getting the same features as iOS and Android. The iOS version receives frequent updates, the latest being on 9th September 2013 and the android was just updated in August. Please upgrade the Windows Phone app as this is not fair for me and other customers who use imdb a lot.

Unfortunately the various phone apps are not the priority the staff, who I'd imagine rather focus on keeping the actual web site up and running, and properly updated, than updating apps which they consider a secondary priority. Add to that that Windows Phones, unlike the Windows operating system for PC, is the least used of the three app driven phone types, by a substantial margin. As such, if it's not seriously broken, and cannot be used on a Windows Phone at all, you shouldn't expect immediate action here. You've requested a feature, and it will take time to implement it, if they feel the need at all.

However, since the two other apps have been recently updated they might just already be working on an update for Windows Phone now too. So cool down and be patient, and good things come for those who wait. ;)

thank you for your reply I appreciate this.

Windows Phone is the 3rd most used OS and growing every month, its the most used OS in the middle east now and has overtaken Android in Russia recently.

I think they need to get their priority right as over 1 year and ditching their customers as a platform gets more popular is a really bad move.

If they can constantly release updates for Android and iOS they can at least make updates every few months at least for Windows Phone.

Thanks again for your reply

+1 here too. You should probably keep on eye on Windows phone market share because it keeps growing. http://www.engadget.com/2013/09/30/wi...

We are all waiting for an update that support sign-in to our IMDB account. Please update the Windows Phone app at least twice a year instead of updating the Android or IOS app every two weeks.

Thank you,
Didier

It's a shame a large company like IMDb does not respect Windows Phone users,
10% marketshare in Europe is not nothing. There are more users of IMDb OUTSIDE the US you know.
No login and ratings functionality makes the app useless.

What's the point if you can't log in? At the moment the app is rubbish, needs a lot of improvements.

I sadly agree here with the people above. Being able to login, rate movies and features like that - is definitely a must-have.

Eagerly waiting for an update.

Thank you,
Phen

For a website as large as IMDB, this is really unacceptable. You have developers like Rudy Huyn creating all the 6Snap, 6Vine, and a bunch of other apps in days. Yet you guys can't even manage to update an existing app in over a year, or at least come out and say we no longer care about supporting Windows Phone so we can give up hope?

Stop screwing around and get to it. Go hire a competent developer for Windows Phone, and get it done.

Is there an alternative site to IMDb which does offer a Windows Phone app?

How come this thread is marked as answered? Must have been done by an IMDb employee who'd rather ignore us than do something about the problem.

What I'm doing right now is constantly updating my review in the Windows Phone Marketplace with just how bad IMDb is serving it's loyal (website) visitors. This way my review stays on top and is the first review everyone reads. If everyone in every country would do so, maybe we can convince IMDb to do a better job, because this is just sad! ps. IMDb is an Amazon company, so it's even more unbelievable how such a huge company is unable or even worse unwilling to keep its visitors. As soon as an even remotely close movie management app is passing by, I will turn my back to IMDb forever.
Worthless app, worthless support, this is how companies become obsolete.

Wrote feedback via the WinPhone App and got directed here. Looking at this thread and the lack of responses it will probably fall on deaf ears but what the hell.

Please update the app for Winphone 8. The platform has matured and there are some great examples of how beautiful and functional apps can be in the Metro/Modern ui. Please give your Win version some much needed love.

Wow, just got my windows phone and was so happy I could get the IMDb app.....until I opened it. No sign-in, no message board. Even had to access via IE on phone to get to the help section. After reading all these comments about no updates for Windows phones, starting to doubt the move from iPhone. Noticed the alert banner upon signing in " version 4.0 for iPhone & Android available now" What a slap in the face to windows. Anyway, it seems that about the only way to get access to the missing features of IMDb is to access via their full Brower site. It also seems to me that that is what IMDb is counting on. So disappointed.

Jup, for IMDb you're forced to use their crap mobile website. IMDb employees are also very unresponsive and unsupportive to our questions. But luckily other more customer friendly companies offer plenty of beautiful apps on Windows Phone that are just as good or better than on iOS or Android :) IMDb/Amazon just don't belong to those companies ;)

Since official IMDb windows phone app lacking I was able to do the following. I "pinned" the IMDb home page from IE Brower to my windows phone. I selected "mobile view". I now have all the features that I had in the IOS app version. Hope
this helps.

Hello IMDb (and Amazon.com) why are you ignoring us Windows Phone users? (I'm really asking here)

I found a great alternative to IMDb: Flixter, and they also have a working Windows Phone app :)

Thanks for the suggestion but Flixter isn't available outside of the US, UK and Canada. Plus, I have my whole library of movies on IMDb.

I've set my phone's region to US and then I can use it just fine. I also have a big watchlist and rating history within IMDb, but it's just a matter of time to migrate that (slowly). But in the meantime I can enjoy a better movie experience with Flixter on my Lumia 920 :) I guess it's whatever you prefer.

Hmm... I wouldn't know how to change the region. And I'd have to do it on my pc too. Transferring 3000 movies from IMDb to Flixter... ugh, no

I would really like to have an updated IMDb app for Windows Phone. I would also like to add that the platform is aggressively gaining share, and making huge inroads with customer perception when they see features like Cortana.

Please update the app for Windows Phone so it's on par (at least design-wise) with iOS and Android.

Thanks!!!

so IMDB has marked this thread as answered, without answering it. How disgraceful. At least have some decency and let us know what is happening.

Since the IMDB app for Windows phone and Windows 8 Modern App have not been updated for years, I have transferred everything to flixster and I will soon close my IMDB account. So far I'm happy with Flixster and I actually prefer the interface.

People are still requesting a proper reply and an update for the app, yet we're still constantly ignored. How sad from a company like Amazon. Strange your amazon app is kept up to date.

Agreed. Sad for a big company like Amazon to act like this. Also make sure you check Flixter...they have a pretty popular Windows Phone app which is being actively developed :)

noticed the ifone one got updated couple days ago and still not even an official word here. It would be courteous if they atleast said they have no plans to support the platform rather than not even acknowledge this thread.
