It has been happening at least for few months. I use Firefox 19 (on other versions too) and Windows7. I disabled all relevant extensions to test it.

Where are you trying to go back from and how did you get to there?
Or do you mean that it takes 3-4 clicks to get back to the previous page? That would tend to happen if there were a lot of redirects in place, which often signals shifty behaviour, something IMDB doesn't do. When IMDB starts playing funny games, it often actually means you have picked up some malware (getting odd ads too?) and it'd be worth running something like Malwarebytes.

Actually, imdb.com is the only site I have this problem so it should not be the virus. My guess problem with Firefox since everything fine on IE9. I just can not figure out what causes this problem. Could be some nasty leftover from some extension I deleted already. Just weird.

It might be an extension, but I would do a full scan - IMDB gets targeted by malware as it is a site that gets a lot of heavy traffic and they can sneak an ad into the page that might not look out of place.

Problem disappeared as suddenly as it appeared. But I saw couple more similar questions posted in other forums. Do not remember where.
