Why the total number of users which rated the film does not change when I rate the film?

Also, the number of films I have rated on Your Lists page is bigger for 1 than the actual films in the Your Ratings page.

IMDb updates the number of votes and ratings a few times per day. On demand updates would cause performance problems that would slow down everyone's response to queries and other functionality.
