Wrong credits at the end of a TV Episode. Anyone else seen this before?

I was watch the latest episode of Chicago Med, entitled CTRL ALT. I noticed all the opening credits were correct but when I got to the end of the episode, they were different. Then, I noticed that the credits had credits that weren't for this episode.

So, this picture, you can sort of see the cast in the background which has Guy Massey as Dave Azen and Isabella Suarez as Bruna Cespedes. You can see the guide overlay correctly identifying this as the episode CTRL ALT.

Here is the picture without the overlay.

The only problem is that these are credits from an episode called Prisoner's Dilemma. Anyone else have an experience where the end credits are obviously wrong?

Hi Adrian,

You would need to add the credits with the (credit only) attribute. See https://contribute.imdb.com/updates/guide/attributes

(credit only) Someone is credited, but did no work - this is most common for a TV series, where a regular cast member does not appear in a particular episode. This is distinct from (scenes deleted), in that there were no actual scenes filmed.

You can also add a trivia item to the episode explaining the credit error.

Regards,
Will

Will, maybe my post was unclear. Adding these credits as credit only is the wrong thing to do. These credits have nothing to do with this episode at all. The broadcast end credits are just simply wrong. They belong to a previous episodes. Adding them to the episode credits would simply confuse anyone that saw the correct credits. This isn't the case that the credits were simply wrong for this episode. It only happened on the broadcast of the episode (and probably only in limited markets as someone had already entered the correct credits into IMDb.) I checked Hulu and the credits were correct for this episode on Hulu, so it was just the broadcast that I watched that had the credits wrong.

Adrian,

In addition to GMJ's suggestion, I would add an explanatory note under Crazy Credits.

Adrian,

Although there are rules that credits should be from the original broadcast, since there was obviously a technical error on the part of the network displaying the closing credits, I believe the situation you described can be one of the exceptions to the rule. I'm not sure which TV market you viewed the show but it's possible that the credits may have appeared incorrectly on the east coast but correctly on the west coast.

I would submit the credits that were shown on Hulu instead of from the NBC broadcast. Having not seen the episode you mentioned, I'm assuming that the closing credits on Hulu are displayed in the center of the screen and not on the lower third.

Hopefully, any later broadcasts of the episode (cable TV, DVD, etc.) will have the correct closing credits listed.

I hope this helps. Please write back if you have any more questions.

I guess the question is was this a nationwide issue. Was it a local issue? Was it an east coast vs. west coast issue? Whoever entered the credits had them correct in there but I don't know the source of the original entry.

Sorry to muddle the waters on this matter.

My main point was that NBC likely displayed the end credits incorrectly. In this case, submit the correct credits from the broadcast streamed on Hulu and also submit a statement under the Crazy Credits indicating that NBC aired closing credits for the wrong episode.

I took your advice and added the crazy credit mentioning that the Broadcast (at least in the Orlando area since I can't be sure of anywhere else) had the wrong credits and used the qv notation (hopefully correctly!) to point to the episode they belonged to.
