Hi,
I am using inflow to run my distribution company, and I would like to know if could be possible to create customer by groups, let me explain, Any time I have to print a payment report I just have the option by customer, but what if that customer has more than 2 locations or stores (walmart, albertsons ..) If I need to print a overdue date report I can not print one report including all the stores my costumer has. It could be work with sales report too when is need to print sales by group of costumer.

Thanks for the great idea!

We played around with the idea of grouping and tagging too. It's currently on our wish-list. I'll add your thoughts onto it. Thanks!

Cheers,

You might consider creating a custom field in your customers for Group. You'll then be able to search by this custom field. I think that'll get you pretty close to the functionality you're looking for!

Hi, this is a good idea for me too, i have customers with different locations also. Their sales or head department needs to get the invoice, but the location manager often gets the quote.

You Know Siobhan, these things are also used in CRM (somethin i requested in an other item) and slowley some point that are usefull of CRM in Inflow wil be added.
F.I. Groups of customers, and the custom documents will make it possible to create mailings. also the combination with the history of orders.
An other point is being abble to keep trac of the contacts (by phone or mail) is importend to make you a good suplier for your customers, this is a little bit possible with attetching a word document to every customer where you can keep trac of these contacts, and add every contact with your customer.

Regards

Just an idea, but what i need, and maby the poster of this item also, is i think possible.
You can use a custom field, name it cutomergroep or something like that.
Fill it with names like ( for the poster of this item) Walmart holding a.s.o..
You can use these fields in the reports bij selecting the customergroup as a filterfield, and enter in value as walmart.
Then you have a report of only all walmart locations that are separate entered as customers, with the additional customfield "customergroep" with the field entry Walmart.
I hope my description is good to understand.

Succes, i hope this helps

Hi Steven,

That's a fantastic idea! So what your saying is that you attach a custom field we're calling "customer group" and use that to filter your report by customer group. Then if you group your order information by customer you'll get a specialize report for one customer group organized by individual customers.

Thinking on your toes there, great work!

Is there a way to put certain customers in a type of sub category for reports? For example Customer A, B, and C are from Group 1
Customer D, E, and F are from Group 2.

This way when I run a monthy reports I can group them by customers and groups.

Hope I was clear enough,
Thanks!

Hi Tyler,

You'll notice that I've merged your question with this string since I think that it will be useful to you. Steven made a very handy suggestion above which is to use the custom fields to set up groups for your customers. Since custom fields are included in reports you will be able to group your customers via that custom field.

Please see above for more detail and should you have any questions please let us know!

Cheers.

Hi Ben,

You'll notice that I've merged your question with this thread as it discusses this very issue. You have a few options, as discussed above you can create a custom group, you could add alternate contacts into your custom fields or you could even simply save your customers as "Customer Name - Alt text" in order to have them sort together.

I do hope that helps and should you have any further questions or concerns please let us know!

Cheers.
