Email Shipment Notifications

  • Under Consideration
Hello. Surely, I can’t be the only person that has requested this type of feature. When I’m entering my customer’s info, I put in an email address. It would sure be nice to have the ability to send off shipment notifications to customers from a preconfigured email address and SMTP server at the end of the day instead of sending it manually. Or perhaps a button on the sales order screen somewhere that emails out the shipment notifications. I would think this could be a very useful tool for many of your customers.

Hi Curt,

First of all, welcome to our inFlow community here!

And yes, this is a good idea, and I remember a few has brought this up before. Our team will look into this possibility for future updates.

Thanks,
Amy

Has anything been done on this yet? If not is it possible to copy and paste either from the report or the sales order onto an email? as this would make like a lot simpler.

Hi there Christine,

Sadly to say, the email integration has not been done yet. The simplest way to include the sales order onto the email would probably be to export the document to your desktop, and then include it as an attachment in your email.

Certainly Curt, i was just think of this ,,, we often sell items that are not yet in stock and have to arrive. So when we have an ETA we can tell the customer when to expect the item. So guy, this is not a difficult and maybe you can implement a Macro dropdown (see the Kayako helpdesk) (a set of predefined text messages to quickly select and implement in the mail multiline textbox) very handy!!

The lack of email integration is probably going to put me off buying inFlow. :(

Hi Mark,

Sorry to hear that! You can find the full outline of how to email invoices on the site here: http://www.inflowinventory.com/softwa... just to clarify the situation. If something comes up that we can help you with please do let us know.

Hope that helps!

You don't need to interface with an email client, just create your own sending interface that connects to an smtp server to deliver the email. Just need to be able edit the text that goes out in a template and maybe some simple edits before sending.

Thanks for the suggestion.

To a lot of people, finding their email SMTP settings and configuring them might be hard. It might seem easy for tech-savvy power users. But without an easy simple interface and design, it'll go against inFlow's core strength of easy and simple to use. So we'll need to find a solution that make sense to both power users and those who are just using hotmail/gmail/etc for their businesses.

Hello

I am Aris and I run a webstore in Greece. If you are serious about upgrading InFlow by intergating e-mail capabillity then you have to consider my needs as well.

I currently send an almost predefined e-mail (an already made document needing some minor adaptations) when I receive an online order, to erery single customer. I also send e-mails and/or sms texts to my customers when their order changes status etc.

So my needs are:
I need to send and receive e-mails and sms texts with a click of a button.
I need these texts and documents to be predefined by me.
I need to have the option to choose what text or document to send.
I need to have the option to add or delete text as i require.

If you have any news send me an e-mail. I will buy the standard edition soon.

Hi Aris,

Thanks for getting in touch! The email integration feature is still under consideration however we'll update this thread if it becomes available. Right now while it's not possible to email documents from inFlow itself, you can set up custom documents if you prefer to use your own template instead of inFlow's : http://www.inflowinventory.com/softwa...

Hope that helps!

For anyone that uses Drupal for their website this is actually pretty easy to build yourself. Let me know If anyone is interested and I can write up some instructions. You will have to have at least basic knowledge of SQL servers, drupal, and command line though.
