item picture in sales quote

Is it possible that in sales quotations, you can also print the picture of the item? Since in the product info you can attach a picture of the item. That would be helpful for client who are trying to choose 2 models or styles of an item.

Yes you can, using the custom documents you should be able to pull your measurements into the documents. There is more information about how to set up custom documents available here: http://www.inflowinventory.com/Knowle.... You should be able to tag the document to include your product measurements on your invoice however you will need to include this information in a custom field in order to make it available to your custom document.

This means copying your measurements to custom fields. Easily done by exporting your product details and then importing them back into the system. When you import them however you will match your measurement fields with four available custom fields: http://screencast.com/t/tDO5oR7ggi

Once you've done so you should be able to effectively tag your document.

Hope that helps!

Hi Praveen,

At the moment this is not possible. You could certainly export your invoice to Word and add the picture there if you liked but the program doesn't have the ability to do that automatically at present. As you can see from the thread below there has been much discussion of a feature such as this and I would refer you to Stephen's comment (the second to last message in the string) for more information on the processing of this feature's potential availability.

Thank you for your feedback!

Yes, It would be a great feature if inflow allows picture within reports or sales quote. As we have over 500 products it becomes difficult for the customers to see the sales quote and refer back to brochure or website for clarification.

Please add this as a top priority in the wishlist.

I guess it should be easy for Inflow to call the picture field in reports as the picture is stored in the SQL database. Please comment stephen?????

This feature will save our time by 90%

very much agree. There I can make my price list even better with the item picture. I would be no longer to waste time to make them. Why I should do double job , when your database has included the pictures.

Thank you for the idea Anne, we have had a few customers mention this type of thing (as above) and are looking into the feasibility of it as it seems to be something which would be helpful.

I was under the impression that the product picture would show up in the reports.. I just got my company to install the free version on a few pc's to try it out, i wish i would have known that the picture doesn't show up in reports before hand.
Time to uninstall and look for another program..

Hi, more than 3 years? wow, and the answer still is that its been evaluated, so why Inflow has to be the best software if they dont help their users? How long takes to add the customers request? If someone has a better software that makes this need please tell me before I buy Inflow

Inflow is a very good product, like all programs it does have its limitations and workarounds. For what it costs, which is always a huge factor in any business investment, it is very good value for money.

In saying the above, with a few simple additions, it could be a far better product. One of its key limitations is Crystal Reports, once this is replaced (which will be costly and time intensive initially) the program will be much more adaptable.

Hi Wasif,

This feature is currently being evaluated. Unfortunately sometimes these features are not as easy to integrate as we would like and so they must all be evaluated on their individual merit. We will be sure to let everyone know whenever new features become available.

Thanks for getting in touch!

Perhaps you can create a "product spec sheet" printout with all the sales information about a product (but not the cost, vendor, etc. as we don't want customers to see that info), including the picture nice and large. Then there could be an option to print all product spec sheets as attachments to a sales order or quote.

Thank you for the suggestion... that's an interesting way of doing it. We'll need to think about this more (it seems different companies want these pictures used in different ways) and look into the options from a technical standpoint!

Hi Kashif,

Thanks for expressing your interest in this feature. As with all the items on our wishlist the number of users who would benefit from implementation and be interested in certain features does affect where things are situated in terms of priority.

Cheers.

I would find the ability to add to a sales invoice (apart from attaching) also. I embroidery products and take a photo of the finished product. A photo on the product I create would help in more ways than one for me and my customers.

I send out at least 10 quotes a week and the feature to add a photo would be a great asset for me. We are currently manually adding a photo to each item. In some cases it can be for over 200 items at a time. The time it takes to complete this is quite extensive. Any help you can speed up this request would be greatly appreciated. I have requested this over a year ago. Any update on the status of getting this completed? Thanks for your help.

original post "kitan 1 year ago" - any progress? I've just downloaded inFlow - and it's one of the first things I looked for when preparing a stock list for potential clients to see what I have on offer... really surprised it's not in as a feature, seeing as you can associate an image with a stock item...

Thanks for adding your feedback here. We can't guarantee that this feature will make it in; but we do promise to review and consider every suggestion for future versions. We have a great team here, but the reality of the situation is that software design (especially for many different users with many different needs) and development is much harder than most people would think. Most requests involve complexities or tradeoffs that need to be carefully considered, for example: will this slow down inFlow? will more printed space allocated for pictures hurt users who want to save paper? will asking people to make more choices frustrate and confuse new users?

As a result, some requests will be added, others will not. A few requests might be done in weeks; others may take years. We appreciate your feedback as well as your understanding, thank you!

Hi Stephen,

Though I am in full support of all that you say and consider the possible impacts you have noted:

Could it be a case, given that this functionality could be added, to have a specific template set up for each of" With Graph and Without Graphic. This would surely help to alleviate those who are mindful of printing heavy graphic files/paper; and appease those that have the need to utilise the graphics, on the understand that they may suffer some performance issues.

Obviously if there is the possibility to have the ability to include graphics in an output file then with impacting performance it would make everyone very happy (including you guys).

Just a thought!

Thanks for the feedback Christine, the exchange of ideas in here has been very positive. As always we appreciate that our users are willing to be so open with us. I'll make sure that your suggestion is included in the working notes for this item so the developers can review.

Thanks again!

My company supplies cutting tools and machine tools to engineering companies of all sizes from small family businesses to multi nationals. The nature of our business is that we are constantly creating flyers or catalog type pages of product lists. All the raw data is in the In Flow database, it's "just" a case of compiling the raw data to create a finished document. A document listing product details - description, price and a picture could be headed "Catalog" or "Quotation", depending on its end use. Might this be a way of satisfying the majority of needs with a simple format?

Hey there,

I've merged your query with this thread to keep things together and easily located for other users with this question. Please see above for the full run down but at the moment it's not possible. We have added this request to the wishlist but as of right now there's no way to do what you're describing other than to export it to Word and then add the pictures manually.

I hope that helps to clarify and should you have any other questions/concerns please let us know!

Hi Pavlos,

I'm so sorry that this is causing you frustration and I can certainly sympathize however at the moment this isn't something that inFlow can provide. As you can see from the thread above (I've merged your question here as it's interrelated) it's something that's on our wishlist so that the developers can consider it for implementation but for the moment I'm afraid it's not available.

If you have any other questions or concerns please do let us know and thanks for the honest feedback with reference to your needs.

Cheers.

Thanks Siobhan. Its realy pitty that this is not possible since on all other features the software is very good.
Is there a 3rd party product solving this? or is there a way around this (exporting the list in another program that allows the adding of pictures?

Hi Pavlos,

I'm sorry we don't have any 3rd party softwares that integrate with inFlow at present though you can certainly export your reports and then add the pictures manually after the fact if that's something you'd like to pursue. From the reports window (let's say a product list, or an inventory summary report) you can export to PDF, Word, Excel or Excel data only. Presumably the best for this would likely be Word but there are several file types you can try.

Alternately you can export your entire list of products from the system via Main Menu > General > Export Data to CSV.

I hope that helps!

We have been using InFlow for about a year and frankly have been frustrated recently with some of the obvious gaps in functionality- like utilizing product photos. I have a hard time wrapping my head around why it would take a year plus to incorporate some of this seemingly basic functionality.
