To take part in beta testing going forward you will need to opt in through the program itself as further updates and offers to upgrade to beta versions will be delivered through inFlow itself. To do so you will have to complete the following steps after you've installed this newest version:

1. Go to Main Menu-->Settings-->About inFlow
2. Click "check for updates"
3. You will see a little check box beside "Also check for beta (pre-release) updates," please check this box and click save.

Once you have followed the above steps future beta releases will be delivered to you in the same manner as regular updates. You can opt out at any time by un-checking the same box.

Updates need to allow one to update without trying to backup database. The clients cannot run Backup and having that mandatory does not allow the patch to be installed. Have to download patch and install manually on many clients. Gives error that it is unable to install must download - then it sends you to the download page for the full Verizon not the patch.

Quick follow-up: Chris can you possibly try running the update on the server first? Once this has been done it should bypass the backup stage and allow you to complete the client patches.

Please do let us know the outcome!

Hi Chris,

Sorry about the trouble here. Let me explain what's going on; there are two things that need to be updated together, the inFlow software version, and the database version. (i.e. they must both be 2.2 or both be 2.3). When you download the patch, etc., that updates the software version, so that initially you'll be seeing the software version 2.3 vs. the database version 2.2. The software update needs to be done on each computer, whereas the database update (the one that requires the backup) only needs to be done once from any computer.

Can you ensure that you've updated the software version on the server computer, and then run inFlow on the server so that it gives you that option to backup and update the database? That'll ensure that the database version is 2.3, so that the client computer won't need to do a backup/update the database.

If you still have problems with the backup, please see here:

Here is the procedure that I complete when I find out about a update. On the server I run the option to update when close inflow - the database updates and does a backup.

On my laptop that has the client - the asks as well to update after closing inflow. This option works, as does with several other uses - however there are a few that do not and they receive error unable to download update and if you click ok - it takes you to the Inflow website where the initial Inflow program can be downloaded - not the patch.

The Server is completely updated to the new version prior to others updating - I am not sure why there are some that get this error - they are using the same Windows version and connection as mine.

On the next update I will note more specifics on those that do not update automatically

thanks

Ah I see, thanks for your help and for explaining that in detail! We'll look into why that might not be downloading properly and particularly clarifying the error message / link. The link for the patch is available on this page:
http://www.archonsystems.com/Download...

And in fact if you download the full version that can also act as a patch too. (But the one off our main website will probably not be the latest beta version).

I'm using v 2.0.1.0 right now, can i use the "update current copy" patch or do i have to use new install of v 2.2?

I already tried using update function from inside inflow ( friom the about option) but it seem freezing when the downloading started.

Hi Deepak,

I'm afraid not, but what you could do is set up different prices for different customers. For instance, if you had a pricing scheme for me, you might have all sorts of different prices for me, that weren't true of any other customers. So, what you can do is set up a pricing scheme for me (let's call it Siobhan) and then save all those prices to that scheme. Since it's my default scheme, whenever you sell something to me, it would use those prices and your other customers could still get your regular prices, or their own custom prices as the case may be.

For more on pricing schemes please see here: http://www.inflowinventory.com/softwa...

Cheers!
