app crashes causing an iPhone4 reboot

My Instagram app on my iPhone 4 is crashing fairly regularly, and is sometimes requiring an iPhone reboot in order for the app to regain functionality. I know not of these things, but it seems like a memory leak or something -- I'd have the app up, but after awhile (an hour or so?) the app will lag in response and then eventually crash.

Once in awhile the crash becomes predictable. As each photo loads, the imminent crash indicator will start showing flat, distorted images (see attached image). Whenever I see this, the crash is soon to follow -- within minutes.

Hey Pete,

So sorry to hear you're having these crashes. We're going to look at this closely for the next release and make sure they're solved.

Thanks for your patience!

Just wanted to add that I am now seeing the Instagram app crash randomly on my iPhone4. I am still seeing all of the above, but the crash is now all of a sudden with no warning.

I'm having the same situation. Photo display messed up and crashes at any moment.

Seriously, this sucks.
I'm forced to re-start my iPhone about three times a day because of the Instagram crashes.
It begins with loading issues, i.e. pics are not refreshed properly although the little loading symbol shows activity.
Sometimes, the pics are messed up as shown above, sometimes I get an error message (Coudn't refresh feed), and sometimes nothing happens, no error, no refresh, the app just shows the same pictures over hours.

These major loading issues occurred with the last update. The one with the "new" stalkerish newsfeed. This update must have messed something up, because before I never had such difficulties.
