I would love it if there was an RSS feed of my photos. For external services like flavors.me, or even to pull-into my blog.

I second this. An RSS feed would make the app absolutely perfect for me. Without it, I'm not sure how useful it'll be in the long run.

I emailed this in 2-3 days ago, my work around was to create a new tumblr account and use the RSS from that.

Have you determined a way to automatically insert into a set, or do you do it manually?

The only trouble with sending 'em to Flickr is that Flickr's RSS abilities are terribly short of configurations. You can't adjust the size of the images, and you can't remove the "so-and-so posted a photo:" from each post.

Unless you know something I don't.

Specifically, I would like to have three types of feeds: The "popular" feed same as the popular page on the app, a "feed" feed equivalent to the feed I see on the app, and a per-user "photos posted" so I can grab the stream of photos that I took, or if I particularly like a user's photos, grabbing his feed would be great too.

This will allow others out there to build their own widgets and Wordpress plugins, browse the feed on google reader or Pulse on iPad, and be a first level of API for an ecosystem of instagram apps to be developed.

A location based feed would be great too.

I'm currently using the same method as you Alan. I'm surprised there isn't a proper RSS though

You can have your RSS feeds right now, no Tumblr or Flickr hacks required. Simply go to this site: http://instagram.heroku.com/

Then follow the "Help" link to learn how to access your photo stream. Once you're on your photo stream, you can subscribe to the Atom feed in your browser or by pasting the current URL in your feed reader.

Hmm, I put in a Tweeted instagr.am URL but I'm getting a "The user ID couldn't be discovered on this page" error.

Suggestions?

You can also get an RSS feed at http://followgram.com.

Just add your username to our directory and click on your profile. At the bottom of your profile you can use the Subscribe option to get the RSS feed.

Unfortunately, Instagram's legal team has shut them down.

Unfortunate, indeed, but not unexpected or inexplicable. Instagram deserves to control their product. I just wish their web-facing presentation was as well put together as their mobile one.

Will we see some improvement on this front in '11?

Not sure, I want a rss feed. I want my pic public only in instagram app and not everywhere on the internet. And it's easy to build a rss feed by creating a tumblr account and post pict on it.

If you tag your photos with something unique like your username, you can get an rss feed of the hashtag by going to http://instagr.am/tags/[hashtag name]/feed/recent.rss. Make sure you leave the '#' character out of the RSS URL. This will provide you with the 20 most recent photos of your hashtag.

Also, if you want, you can download some free code and post your feed on your own website. See http://mattwilcox.info/2011/01/instag... for details.

I found out about this and tried it today. It's cool, but it only shows the most recent 20 pictures.

As Mislav replied earlier (this works well)...
