Web profiles for Instagram users?

Any chance you're planning on a web profile for app users? I think it's a fantastic program, but I'd love to be able to link to a URL for my own profile so I can see images, followers, comments, etc. You can do this with Twitpic, and it's really useful - I think it would make Instagram the ultimate social imaging app!

Original wants submitted via email and copying on here for everybody's info:

- want archive of users pics at instagr.am/user/name (or something like that)
Helps with others that don't have iphones and further adoption, helps with traffic, seo (if done right) and rankings - again overall adoption.

- want comments and likes synced online. User would have to already have account to use them but could read them. Too hard to see link on twitter, view it then find phone and the open app then try and find that specific post to try and like/comment. Flow there sucks

if this site gets a web profile and then finds a way to allow you to post pics with twitter app instantly i would drop TwitPic in a heart beat and switch over.

I want to see everything I can see on my phone, on the web. The feed, the popular items and the news. Others should be able to see all my photos via a link I give them, or by searching for my name.

I think this is a no-brainer.

Having an iPhone app is fun and all, but without a website to back it up, it will not last. There is a need and if instagram doesn't fill it, another company will quickly step in. I like you, instagram. Get with it and get with it quickly.

Or at least be able to click on one of your pictures to find the URL, I can't share my first pictures because I didn't set it up with Twitter in the beginning. :(

I would like to have my own web address like I have with flickr & twitpic so that I can show my friends and family my photos I've taken with Instagram. I'm currently sending the Instagram photos to flickr but have to upload them to twitpic separately, maybe you could add twitpic to the instagram app like you currently have with flickr.

Until I can attach some kind of ownership to my photos, one accessible through a webpage, I would never use this app.

yeah that would be really great, i also would pay (as long as it's a reasonable fee, something in the order of a small single-digit amount of euros per month) for a pro subscription that would allow me to have a web profile with my snapshots

I'm torn: the iphone focus of instagram is one of its most appealing features, which gets diluted considerably by photographs made by other cameras. I DO like seeing really good images whatever the source, but that's something that can be done elsewhere.

Suggestions: restrict instagram to iDevice images only. Use the EXIF data to validate: I guess that wouldn't be too hard to do and it would reduce the amount of confusion and frustration I (and some other iphoneographers, at least) experience. The iPhone camera is truly marvelous as is; with a few apps it is incredible.

I don't know that the iphone or ipad is capable of handing a user's gallery or news feed well, so I'd like to see a web interface that allows gallery management (deleting images, primarily for me), likes, comments, and news feeds. For me, the iphone interface isn't really suited to textual commentary, so using my computer to manage captions and comments would be a huge plus for me.

Being able to explore other users at random would be really nice -- it's possible within the app, but clunky (as is "your photos.") Adding a "users to watch" feature would help me, I think; some of the people I follow are very prolific (as I can be at times!) so it would be nice to be able to save a list of people whose work I like to see without clogging my feed.

That's about all I have time for for now. Keep up the good work!

As long as uploading can only be done by a mobile device, I would love to see a web interface.

In particular, I'd like the ability to browse friends and manage relationships, see my previously liked photos, and have an easily accessible photo stream (so that I don't have to send them all to flickr).

I kinda dig the idea of Instagram. However I "only" have a first-gen Touch with no camera and a capped OS. I've shared a few pictures but only after transferring onto the Touch and then uploading from there. Yes it's a cheat but not everyone has the resources to own a real iPhone.

So I wholeheartedly endorse some sort of web application for users like myself who have camera-less Touch devices.

There is also http://www.gramfeed.com/. Not ideal (for one, people have to have an instagram account to browse) but a good tool in the meantime.

I know this has been iterated about 1,003 times above, but my version would say something like "I would like to see the instagram app in webpage format. Fully functional and integrated with the iPhone app. So if I want my mother who does not have an iPhone to see my feed, she can log onto the website and follow my profile from their. Full integration and comradery with webpage and app."
