I’m frustrated

Air Copy will not save to Macbook Pro running OS X 10.9.4

When connecting my new Air Copy to the iPad it works flawlessly. However, when using it on a Macbook (OS X 10.9.4), it scans and gives an error 'The file XXX couldn't be saved in the folder "Pictures".', where XXX is the filename it requests from me. There are no permissions issues that I can see with the Pictures folder, and it gives the same error when any other folder is chosen. Can you assist?

  • Hello Raukan,

Thanks for posting. Mac OS X 10.9 isn't officially supported with the AIR Copy. The symptoms you've described may be due to the incompatibly of your current operating system. I recommend using a supported operating system as stated below.

    Hi Chris,

Thank you for your reply and clarification.

Do you have any plans to support OS X 10.9 Mavericks and (by extension) OS X 10.10 Yosemite?

As you might expect, it is highly unlikely that I – or any other Mac user – would revert back to OS X 10.8.2 Mountain Lion to get the unit to work. It's akin to asking asking a Windows 7 user to go back to Vista: not gonna happen!

The unit is superb, except for this singular issue. You'll be pleased to know it works flawlessly with iOS 7.1.2, even though it's unsupported.

    Kindest regards,
    Raukan.

  • I’m so frustrated now that it doesn't fit in the dialog box
Further information, Chris – the Apple App Store, from where the software was downloaded, states "Optimised for 10.9". Can you clarify that you posted software that is 10.9 compatible but don't actually support it? Should it be withdrawn from the App Store for being incompatible and incorrectly claiming a functionality it lacks?

I deeply appreciate your input on this matter.

  • Hello Raukan,

You are correct according to the app store. It seems like the app store is more updated then our website's content which I'll inform my ION Audio team about. Thanks.

Nevertheless, I downloaded from the app store version 1.0.4 on my Mac, which is running OS X 10.9.4. I couldn't replicate your symptoms above. To show you what I did, I've documented my process below. I was able to save my image to my Pictures. I saved it as a .jpg too.
