I’m confused

New Ion Tailgater batteries won't hold charge.

My Ion tailgater barely holds a charge anymore. Every time I get a new battery, it will work as it's supposed to for a few days, giving around 30 hours of listening on a full charge, but after about a week it will turn as it is now, and only last about an hour. I can charge it overnight, but when I unplug it and start playing music it immediately gives me the 3/4 battery light, and after an hour of claiming to be at 3/4, it dies. Is there a fuse somewhere that could have gone bad or something? I am positive it is being fully charged but like I said, this happens every time I replace the battery and I'm tired of wasting $15 for a new one every 2 weeks. The speaker works fine when it's plugged in but I'd like to be able to take it places and not be without music after an hour-45 minutes.

  • Hi Derek,

Sorry you're having issues with your Tailgater holding a charge.

Based on the symptoms you've described, it sounds like there may be an electrical issue from within the speaker that is preventing it from properly charging and holding a charge. This all being said, it sounds like you may need to service your speaker.
