Vinyl Forever device not recognized on windows 7

I connected all the cables and the PC seems to recognize a new USB device and USB mike is now listed but no relevant playback device.

  • may I add that I saw the volume next to the "gain" button moving irrespective if there was any music playing or not.

  • Hello,

Thanks for posting. I'd like to help. Thanks for the detailed info. First, make sure you're using the latest version of EZ Converter software from the link here http://www.ionaudio.com/ezvc/#. Is this Windows 7 computer a desktop or laptop? If a desktop, please try to connect your Vinyl Forever to the USB ports on the back of your desktop. If a laptop, please connect your computer to the USB ports near your power adapter. If this still doesn't connect, try a different USB cord. If that still doesn't connect then you may have issue an issue with your turntable. Contact ION Audio technical support by logging onto http://www.ionaudio.com/contact.

  • I’m upset
my PC is a desktop; I plugged it in now to the USB port without the USB hub I was using previously. Interestingly enough, it seems to recognize now a USB generic microphone [it may have done that before as well], but no playback device.

[I can't try out a different USB cable, since your cable is unique to your device.]

It sounds like you're trying to tell me that my device is defective and needs to be returned??

    • yes. I read this several times in your instructions. But when I did this, over and over, with restart, etc., at no time did USB Audio Codec/USB PnP Audio Device show up at all. What did appear was "USB microphone", nothing at all new in "playback devices" :(
