Is IQTELL a CRM tool? Is there a way to view all actions, projects, emails, etc. that are related to a contact?

  • IQTELL gives you the ability to quickly view all your actions, projects, phone calls & meetings, notes, and emails related to a particular contact.

    Follow these 3 easy steps:

    1. Find the contact in your Contact List

    2. Right-Click and select "View Contact Related Entries in:"

    3. You'll then be able to select which entry types you'd like to see. For example, easily see all actions and projects for a given customer!

It's nice, but I'd like to be able to view in panels instead of multiple tabs, and would be nice to be able to have a section where the items are listed for easy review and access. Right now, If i want a complete picture of history with a client, i have to open at least 3 tabs. Having the features link is nice, but not quite easy enough to use as a CRM for me

  • Renee, it sounds to me like you're asking for a dashboard view for your contacts. If I've got that right, I fully agree. If I've got it wrong, please clarify.

  • I hate tabs but they seem to be an integral part of IQTELL. I am hoping to learn to enjoy them. Yes 2 or 3 or even 4 tabs but I end up with tons especially when searching. If there is a better way someone will suggest it and IQTELL will implement it but so far I see people like me complaining but no one offering a better solution. I got used to tabbed browsing a few years ago and that is great so not quite sure why I am having trouble getting my head around IQTELL tabs. They are not the same thing though.

Ian - there is a new feature to limit tabs. It's call Tab Groups. Go to settings, My Account, Preferene - and Enable Tab Groups, Save

Let me know what you think.

  • Ok I have that set. I search for a common term on workspace. I get a more tabs tab to see everything, what am I missing?

What I would like is to do a search like in Windows where all items are in the one tab when doing workspace search.

Eg Email, Evernote, Calendar, Contact, project. My memory is poor and I want to see things most recent at top and sorted down all on the one tab. An icon next to each item so it is clear what you are opening.

Maybe I am trying to make IQTELL work like windows that I am used to and I need to think about it more.

Evernote is not searchable I just worked out doing Workspace or selecting Evernote specifically. No matches found for the given search criteria.

  • Ian - I kind of agree with you. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I think what you are asking for is a easy way to see things globally. Interestingly. I had a similar discussion yesterday with Eytan about being able to see all my reminders in one global list.

But I don't see a need to get rid of tabs. Why not have both; perhaps a user defined default along with a toggle button that goes between a global view and a tabbed view of the same data. In the global view, you'd have a column that would do the work of the tabs.

I think having a toggle for this would be super.

  • @workmuse yes that works for me. Also still badly needs a resizable right hand preview pane. Maybe I am trying to make IQTELL look like Outlook but Microsoft do have some good ideas, don't be afraid of stealing them or should I say borrowing them ;-)

  • Can someone help with Contacts.

I want to go into a contact and quickly see all activity including phone calls, emails, calendar events for a contact.

It would be also great to be able to create calls, emails and calendar events from the contact.

The above approach is quite limited and to get to the menu item requires the contact to be on the top of the screen or the right click menu is not fully accessible as it drops beyond view on the bottom of the screen and I have a high res large monitor.

I would not call the current approach really CRM.

Maybe this can be done now with custom forms, I have someone I am trying to setup CRM for and it needs to be simple to use.

If someone rings you on the phone or you call them you need everything in the same area also needs to be shareable between a team so everyone knows what is happening with the customer.

Anyone have any clues or tips on how to make this work or is this a dedicate CRM situation?

    • Problem with the menu on right click is if you are selecting a contact that is near the lower half of the screen Chrome has the URL show up which partially obscures the bottom of the drop down menu, it is fine in Firefox and IE, not sure why Chrome does this. Anyone know how to turn this off?

I'm able to access the menu fine in Chrome, it is not blocked by the URL bar at the bottom. Can you post a screenshot? Thanks.

    Hi Eytan,

I can see how you do this but I am wondering why this is hidden in a right click menu? Can you add an extra button on the screen as well to get this menu from the contact?

The issue here is I just did this you need to select many boxes for some contacts, one for each email box then Evernote etc a Select all option.

This then brings me to my biggest complaint well at least recently and you will see my other post on this. I don't want to see a lot of tabs open, I want to see the complete activity in one tab for the contact and be able to sort them by columns like in Windows Search so by date / time mostly would do.

So I go to a contact and I have a button or even better automatically there is a panel that takes about half the screen and it has all the activity immediately. I don't want to be right clicking checking off boxes and then presented with a pile of tabs that I have to wade through, hmm was it in Evernote or an email I read or do I already have an action for this person and can I add to it or add a phone call. Maybe it is just me but that for me is a lot of friction and is immensely slow and non intuitive. This will never make a Good CRM in my mind. This is not something I can setup for someone and say this is what you have to do in managing a customer.

I know you guys are working hard at features but this is a technical solution that seems to require a lot of work when it could be so much easier. I don't think I could setup CRM like this and have an average person use it.

Searching and displaying all results whatever the object, email, evernote, Action, Project all opening in different tabs just does not work for me or anyone I have demonstrated it to. They just turn off and say too hard.

Once you find the item in the search then open it in a new tab then it makes very good sense to have tabs.

Sorry to be pedantic but I find this frustrating. Maybe it is too hard to implement and the DNA of IQTELL just won't allow a tab to have mixed content?

    Excuse the grumpiness.
