Changed reply in topic of iRule Alternative Disscusion by John Wallace to Hi Kalle - yes you can send ir commands that way, I'm not sure how to send rs232 via Http tho. Am I right in assuming the iRule repeating entrance is done via a cyclic button on this app. It certainly looks interesting. The scripting looks a little easier that TouchControl. I could send ir commands also via my Vera, in fact I do this already for integration with my alexa.

Changed reply in topic of Global Cache WF2IR and the new Google Pixel 2 phone (or Android 8?) by Greg Kinney to Ok thanks Dan. Do have any thoughts why the WF2IR is connected - I can send commands to it successfully from an ISY and from various other mobile devices. But with the same panels and gateways from iRule, just on one specific device, the Pixel 2 XL, I cannot successfully send commands to the iTach? I have quadruple checked the gateways, panels, and network are all the same. I can successfully send commands to all of the wired iTachs but just not the two wifi iTachs..

Changed reply in topic of Is iRule still being developed? by Mike to <a href="http://www.getirule.com" rel="nofollow">www.getirule.com</a> Go to announcements. They finally address the issue. Looks like servers will run until 2021, but development is done..

Changed reply in topic of OPPO UDP-203 by Kryosec Inc to Hi Mike thanks for the responses, I have already tried the code download xx RS232 couldn't get it working, I also took a working DB9 cable for a working device and used it for the OPPo to try test and yet it still doesn't work.. baud rates etc are all set correctly...it's really odd.. I tried IR setting and used an IR port on my GC-12 and managed to get it working...IR works but RS232 and IP through iRule I can't seem to get working...IP through the OPPO MediaCkntrol app works perfectly but trying to get IP to work through iRule doesn't..that's even more strange.... Changed reply in topic of Important update about the future of iRule & ON Controls! by Karn Evil 9 to Yes, great advice, move on. The plex and Kodi integration look pretty nice. Better than the piece meal complicated work arounds that needed to be dealt with with IRule..

Changed reply in topic of Important update about the future of iRule & ON Controls! by Karn Evil 9 to To each there own James. Personally I would never invest in a system fully knowing the company will offer no further support or development and established a time line for complete abandonment. Remember the time that needs to be invested in building out a system. What is that worth? The statement this iRule rep made really pissed me off. Quite generous. Seriously. They are doing the bare minimum of what any responsible ethical company should be doing given the circumstances. Remember there is more people impacted by this than just the DIY user. There is also the dealer base and their clients. At one time iRule was the backbone of my home based system but I have since replicated every single command and conditionals via PLEG on my Vera hub. My primary reason for the migration was preparation for voice control. With that I get control ouside of my network as well as timed events. At this point iRule is nothing more than a portal for me and can be easily replaced..

Changed reply in topic of Important update about the future of iRule & ON Controls! by hadi to Hello everyone<br /><br />So it's happening and irule is on life support, I won't be surprised if they shut it down earlier, say end of 2018!!<br /><br />Irule is not looking for alternatives they are simply looking for profit.<br /><br />That being said I think it's time to learn and move forward,, I was a redeye until it died and that led me to discover irule ,, so now it could be demopad or roomie,, too many out there, but lessons learned I will be attempting to create something that would run locally and have zero dependencies on any outsourced services that shut down at will<br /><br />There are many open source devices out there that can do that and this is where I would be going.<br /><br />For all the hours I spent on irule I discovered that it doesn't really provide everything I wanted and mostly half baked,,, I mean for a 10usd device from a lie press I had a better experience in some areas and simpler IR functionality, so don't get to hung up on irule it has always been the community not the Irulers, demo pad is not cloud based and I can still use my itach setup .<br /><br />Divorce it is,,,,.

Changed reply in topic of Important update about the future of iRule & ON Controls! by Karn Evil 9 to Quiet generous? When did you receive your last purchase order for either a basic or pro licence? If you shut down immediately how would the users who purchased recently feel. You are not being generous sir. Your product is still on sale until the end of 2018..

Changed reply in topic of Important update about the future of iRule & ON Controls! by Karn Evil 9 to I would not sweat it. Honestly while iRule best attribute was its flexibility in customizing it severely lacked in other areas and out of the box the graphics are kind of dated. Feedback can be a royal pita to get working, sliders never worked for me, no EPG and native keyboard support. The modules that where available where kind of half baked. I would expect before 2021 comes along there will be new platforms that will make iRule look like ms-dos and most would move on anyway..
