I’m silly

Alternate fonts?

Does anyone have any ideas on how to add or change the available fonts? The ones we have available have great similarities -- some of them appear to be identical to Arial, and others so close as to make no difference.

However, no italics are available, and no light-hearted fonts like Comic Sans. Eurostyle would be a welcome addition also.

This is a screen clip of all of the available fonts as displayed on my iPad.

  • Hi Dan.

I have been creating text in a graphics program, like Photoshop or Gimp, and saving it as a .png file with background transparency.

I have been putting them on buttons, which I program with a .1 second delay. This is my version of a null command, and it makes the button solid, instead of translucent like it is with no commands.

It recently dawned on me that I could just put the .png on the background layer, and I wouldn't have to mess around with buttons at all.

'Lee Home Theater' is in a font called English at 144 points, and 'Select A Zone' is in English at 42 points. They are both on dummy buttons programmed with a .1 second delay.

It would be really nice if iRule would allow labels to hold graphics, like .png files! (iRule, are you listening?)

    Mike

  • Mike, I have done that when I want a certain design for the headline of a Web page. But to do it for the hundreds of labels in my iRule handset would be just too much.
