Any way to control multiple firesticks

I have my irule setup to control my firestick. However I have a 4 TV setup I use to watch sports. I would love to connect each TV to a firestick and control all 4 with irule. Does anyone know if this is possible? I would assume it would just involve setting each firestick to a different port but not sure firestick allows this. Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Can you explain how you are controlling your firestick with Irule? I haven't found device codes to control a firestick (currently I have the firestick plugged into an HDMI port in my Sharp TV). Do you have the firestick in an HDMI port in your computer?

  • I used a set of the inteset adapters on Amazon. They basically accept an ir command that comes from my global cache ip to ir device and then send that command to the fire stick. Each global cache unit can control up to 4 devices. Then for the codes all you need is the generic media center remote codes from the irule database. I forget what command the red, green, blue and yellow do but you can Google that pretty easily. In my irule I made 4 pages for my 4 fire sticks and I can swipe left and right to control each of them but you could probably fit all of them on 1 page if u want. Lastly I made a button in irule that opens the fire TV remote app. It is very seamless and can control as many sticks as u want. It gives me a backup in case the other quits working. I can now easily control 4 tvs each with their own fire stick and have each one playing a different game and control which one has the sound playing through the receiver or the TV.

  • thanks for responding so quickly. I actually figured out an elegant solution. The firestick is plugged into an HDMI port on my tv and I was able to turn on CEC control on both the firestick and my tv (Sharp Aquos) so that my tv remote could control the firestick. I'm controlling the Sharp over IP and so was able to control the firestick 'through' the control of the Sharp tv.
