Feedback Plex and Dune?

Trying to get feedback to work in the iRulebuilder and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to show for instance what movie is playing while watching plex and how can I test if something is working wrong?

Plex Gateway
HTTP
plex server IP
Port 32400
GET

I made a Plex Device with Status Query code.data: status/sessions
I put this in an entrance that repeats every 15 seconds.

I made a feedback that ties to the Plex Device and use this
starts with: leftcarrot MediaContainer size="1" rightcarrot
ends with: leftcarrot /MediaContainer rightcarrot
prefix: *title="
suffix: "*

Nothing shows up.

Also for the Dune the feedbacks in the community (waffles and vik) make sense, but nothing works.

Any tips or hints on getting feedbacks to parse XML correctly? At this point I am more curious how to get this working. But would really like to get a basic title playing from Plex if possible and work from there.

Using Simple Rest Chrome plugin I can see http://plexserverIP:324000/status/ses... spits out an xml with title="movie title"

I have feedback working correctly from my Denon receiver and really like how this stuff looks in the panel.

    STATUS QUERY
    cgi-bin/do?cmd=set_text&text=some_text_string Replaces the currently edited text string with the given text string. Returns "failed" command status if there is no active text editor. Here:

    status&timeout get
    cgi-bin/do?cmd=status&timeout=-1

    status get
    cgi-bin/do?cmd=status

  • Using Dune Smart D1. I shared my device with the community and added the above queries to it.

    It worked with this which is hard to see from the first image. Thank you!

    starts with: <param name="player_state" value="
    ends with: </command_result>

    Any ideas how I can pull the movie title from plex? I use Dune to play some files and Plex to play others. Time for some more experimenting.

  • I got this at least working so it can read the Plex status/sessions xml file for a number. This simple example gives feedback for the Sampling Rate.

    Numeric ->
    Numeric Code ->
    prefix: *samplingRate="
    suffix: "*
    Value ->
    value units: custom
    custom units: Hz

    So is there a trick to reading letters instead of numbers in the numeric code? Textual codes appear to just look for an on or off trigger and replace that to some default value.
