"Request a password" says my e-mail address not on the system

I have a similar issue to one that is marked as being "solved" - although I appear on the "Members" search and have been a member for maybe a couple of years, it says my e-mail address does not exist on the system when I try to create a password.

I seem also to have stopped receiving the e-mail updates to that e-mail address also.

Hi Chris, I found your account and reset your password to ChangeMe. :) Your user name is Chris Collingridge. Please go reset that password to something secure, and let us know if you can't log in still!

Hi Liz,
Would you pls help me with my account as well.. my username is gpenkar. IXDA recognises both the user name and the email id...
I seem to have forgotten the password though... and the site is unable to reset the password for me...

It appears you don't have an existing account at all. You should register as a new user and setup your account.

I did it. Now there are two "Nurit Peres" on the members directory (both are me...). and I lost my Ixda "seniority" ha ha :)

my email is drf at dfarkasdesign dot com useraname dafark8. The issue is i have an account from my old job dfarkas at pnc dot com and this email address. When setting up to transfer my account I am under the impression it sent all email to the pnc account (a dead account)

I see the correct email address (dfarkasdesign) listed for your account. Do you need a password reset?

I was hoping to be able to use the legacy account. I made a new account with the same email address but I all the threads I was associated with are no longer linked to my profile. A search for my last name provides my old account http://www.ixda.org/users/david-farkas but my new one doesnt show up. I would like to have everything combined as to not worry about lost content.

Hi. Okay, I have merged the accounts. The new merged account matches your old one, username David Farkas. I updated the email address associated with it, but you will need to do a password reset. Let me know if that works for you.

Resolved this one I believe! People should also remember when trying to request password: your username is by default your Firstname Lastname, two words.

Hi Liz, I've been unable to log in to my old account although the email address is the same as before and I've tried every combination of username. In the end I've created a new account, but if they could be merged, that would be great. .

Ah hah. I kept trying to use my e-mail address as my username, not realizing the Firstname Lastname pattern. So I've had to reset my password a bunch over the last few months. Irritating. It would have been helpful if the error feedback on log-in attempts would suggest trying your Firstname Lastname in the username field. That's an important clue.

Can you please reset my password too. I am receiving ixda emails at sarita.yardi@gmail.com but can't login to get a new password. (Neither last name or First Name Last Name or email address works)

Hi Sarita. I just searched out membership for that email address and didn't find an account. Could you be signed up with a different email address?

Hi - I've tried the recover PW workflow and I get an error - cannot send email, contact an administrator. I've even attempted to re-register, but it says an account with my email already exists. Can you please reset my PW?

Hi there: tried to create a new account and ran into the same problems as many above. Can I please get my login info squared away? Name is Derek Fricano, email is dfricano -at- gmail -dot- com and username is dfricano.

Two suggestions: one, if Get Satisfaction is the preferred method for troubleshooting, please give the link more priority on the Contact page. I blew right past it in favor of the form and found it right about the time I finished typing my issue. Two, when trying to create my account or recover a password, the combination of success and error messages at the same time is really confusing - one or the other seems all that should be displayed.

I registered with ixda and was confronted with "Unable to send e-mail. Please contact the site administrator if the problem persists." I'm pretty sure I put my email in correctly.

I tried using the 'I forgot my password' option and used the username I had chosen - same error message.

Can you sort me out please?

This seems to be a long running issue and a little ironic for a site about interaction design...

I stopped receiving IXDA mails on my registered email on May24. Now when I try to login at the website, it does not accept. When I request password, I get this error
"Unable to send e-mail. Please contact the site administrator if the problem persists."

The ongoing issue as described by the "unable to send e-mail" error message has been resolved. Please try registration and/or forgot password requests again now.

Hi, I cannot log-in to my account either. I get IXDA emails at this email address: espinosa.angelica.m@gmail.com, but the site says it cannot be found. I was looking to log-in to change the email address I use, but found a bigger problem. Any assistance you could give would be helpful. Let me know if I need to create a new account. Thanks. Angelica

I don't see an account under your name or that email address. Do you have any other addresses forwarding to that address? Or a username that you might be registered under?

Hi,

I'm having an issues try to access my account from '09.

Username: Elsa Bartley
email: elsabartley [at] hotmail.com

Tried doing a password reset, but it won't allow a reset for that email, but I've checked and that email has the confirmation email from '09.

I may have an account with username marmaladegirl too as have a re-confirmation message for that. But the site doesn't recognise the username.
