Joli OS doesn't boot. Please help recover files.

I cannot boot Joli OS. I get a message saying:
No init found. Try passing init=bootrag
Busybox v1.13.3 (Ubuntu 1:1.13.3-1ubuntu11) built-in shell (ash)
(initramfs)
One minute it was booting up perfectly well and the next I keep getting this message. I have tried the sudo fsck and also from the jolicloud website I read about how to restore your files with sudo mkdir/media/je etc. Any ideas on how I can recover my files. It looks as the partition is now unallocated. I have the usb key so I can boot into Joli OS. I have no idea about linux so I'm just trying anything I can find on the web. Hope somebody can help me.

Hey Zak, I have the same problem but this isn't working for me at all. Need to recover files before I could reinstall.

Finally the guys from Jolicloud gave me a solution that worked. I hope it works for others too:

1.Boot a live session with a Jolicloud USB key
2.Open the filesystem (you can do it from the launcher or just press the contextual/menu key and go to' Places')
3.Click on your Windows partition to mount it
4.Open a terminal with Alt + F1
5.Type: sudo mkdir /media/je
6.Type: sudo fsck -fd /media/*/jolicloud/disks/root.disk ( apparently my disk was corrupted and by running this command it fixed the problem. If it comes up with a question "Fix" just press y for yes)
7.Type: sudo mount -o loop /media/*/jolicloud/disks/root.disk /media/je
A new volume called je appeared on places and under home I could retrieve all my folders and files.

I hope this helps. Thanks to Cedric from Jolicloud.

I've tried this, but I don't get a folder. I do get a message saying "need terminal for interactive repairs" and another that I have mail in home/Jolicloud - no idea what to do next! I just need to retrieve my work so I can reinstall Jolicloud. Help!

@Joanna Franks; Jolicloud developers no longer solve problems here...
see the sign - top right of this page...

Jolicloud monitors but is not active in this community.

So rather than wait 2 - 3 weeks in the hope they notice your problem here...

PLEASE post on Facebook.com/jolicloud

In the meantime... you say "I've tried this, but I don't get a folder. I do get a message saying "need terminal for interactive repairs" "

at which step in the post above by Eleni Maravella - did you get that message??

Thank you - don't have Facebook, but will try asking on Twitter again. The messages appear when I complete step 7.

Did you type
sudo mount -o loop /media/*/jolicloud/disks/root disk /media/je

it is better to copy (hilite and Ctrl and C) the written command...
then in Terminal which you have open,
Top menu > Edit >Paste

that should automatically enter the command in terminal...Tap Enter to run the command

Just in case it was a miss-spelled 'word'...

sorry I can't be more helpful...

Thanks for all your help. I had to give up and reinstall in the end though.
