Where did all my apps go?! Home screen only shows 'favorites', 'preferences' and 'administration' and there's nothing listed under favorites like there was when I first installed. Everything's gone. The apps are still on here though (have to search for them to find them). The Main Menu app doesn't open. Help!

Btw, I'm on an HP Mini 1025DX.

I have the same problem on a couple of different computers. I was able to get the home screen back once by pressing alt-f4 and alt-tab a few times alternatingly to close any errant black windows, then ctrl-alt-F2 to switch video modes, then pressing alt-left until I got back to the windows screen. When the problem happened again and I tried the same process to recover the home screen, I found that it didn't work.

I then found out that it was really just the desktop showing through and that the home-screen program had closed/frozen/hidden and would not come back. Is there any way to automatically restart the home screen app without rebooting?

m.heydar elahi, that is a different problem.

Had this same problem and fixed it:

Open the File Browser, make it show the address bar an type:
/home/%USER%/.config/menu
Where %USER% is your username.
There you should find the file "applications.menu".
Rename it to "applications.menu.backup" and it should work!
If anything worse happens, just rename the backup as it was before.

Cheers and good luck!
