How can I choose which virtual world viewer to use?

Normally, Kitely launches the default virtual world viewer. This is usually the last viewer that was installed. However, if you have multiple viewers installed then you can choose explicitly which viewer to use by entering it in the file kitely-config.txt. This file is created when you install Kitely Plugin (version 1.2.0 or higher) and visit a world page for the first time.

How to edit the file

Windows:

The file's location is:
C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Local\Kitely\kitely-config.txt

Open it with Notepad.

You might not be able to see this file in Windows Explorer, because "AppData" is a hidden directory. However, you can still open this file in Notepad: start Notepad; select "File > Open" from the menu; and enter the full path shown above (substituting your own name for "Your Name").

Mac:

The file's location is:
YourName/Library/Application Support/Kitely/kitely-config.txt

Open it with TextEdit.

How to change the viewer

Add a line such as the following to the file:
viewer=<path to viewer>

Example (Windows):

viewer=C:\Program Files (x86)\SecondLifeViewer2\SecondLife.exe

Example (Mac):

viewer=/Applications/Second Life Viewer 2.app
